What do you think about Linkshell Tabards?

Long as you keep it classicly dark ages like the shields.

Thinking family/clan seals or something like that.

Well you see alot of current GC NPCs with Con, the flags strapped to their backs. Perhaps something like this for free companies? Heck would be a neat thing for Seal turn ins too. Just need a Slot for it in the gear window.

The reason tabards worked is because you didnt need to sacrifice any actual gear for it. If you release Free company or LS Armor people won't use it (unless we get Vanity slots! hint hint)

Well the way it worked in Aion was you could make any image with the right dimensions and upload it to the website to have it appear on a cloak like item that any guild member would be adorned with (of course you had the option to turn it off too). You could also get your guild emblem on some shields and maybe some other things I cant remember.

You could do a half cloak like this:

Players could choose in their own options which size cloak they wanted, the guild leader chooses the custom emblem and the color of the cloak. This was a really awesome system in my opinion. Something like this would be great in XIV, I would be happy if they would just let us put our own emblems on our guild shields and have them displayed by our names.

Something simple like a badge is ok.

Can we get cloaks (visible ones) period in this game? -_-;

I read somewhere that they are planning on this. I'm too not motivated to look up the interview, but IIRC, they intend to do that for Free-Companies (which I think was a follow up detail on the fact that one can only join one Free-Company, unlike Linkshells)

i'm ok if there is an OPTION for "not-see-those-tabard"

P.S please use better graphic MMO as example.

Really? We need options to control other players looks?

Tabards are not out of period for the style of game we're playing. I really loathe the idea of being able to /display off things on OTHER players. If a group of players wants to display their Grand company or Free company Crest why are you so against it that you want an option to hide it?
