You can already adjust the camera height if that's part of what you're looking for.

I wonder what "standard MMO camera controls" are supposed to be... I though that's what this game was already trying to emulate with the current camera controls. I would be plenty happy to go back to using the Directional keys like XI and to actually have a functional target/menu system so I don't have to use a mouse.
