Yeah, I get that. I'd been doing that for trials and dungeons at the start, but people in my FC told me I didn't need to. I wouldn't dream of going into anything harder than MSQ content without checking out a guide.

Don't bother with old content while synched. If you don't have issues committing, start looking for static group right now and simply start raiding when new tier is out.. If static group is out of question, then just use party finder and join Practice groups. The best way is to always ask in FC if any1 is interested in it, so you can use pf with your friends
Normal dungeons and Trials, heck, even Alliance Raid won't need anyone to watch a guide before hand honestly.
And personally I think it's more fun to experience new things like that blind.
But I do however watch guides before entering Extreme Trials and Savage Raids simply because I don't wanna feel like a complete burden.
Not that I remember everything I see, but at least I remember fragments and perhaps even manage to react sooner to mechanics I otherwise wouldn't know what the heck it is.
