BAN-KAAAIIIIIIIII!
I'd love to see more classes come to FFXIV. I'm wondering on the dual wield mechanic will work. I'll you have to issue commands for your off hand like you do for Shield attacks? I absolutely hope not! I don't think SE would muck that up... but you never know lol.
No, but only if we're talking XI "OMG YOU MUST HAVE NIN ARHGHGHG" foaming at the mouth elitism-fostering NIN job class. The class was just too unbalanced and required for so much of the game, and the community insisted it was required for even more than it already was.
I think with the Armory system, they could maybe make it less vital to gameplay, and in that case, I'm all for it as a reasonable, balanced class.
If they do add it, I really hope that Utsusemi is class-specific.
I would love for SE to give me the freedom to not level a job that I have no interest in, just so I can still get party invites.
i had the most fun in ffxi while playing nin on hard situations or duo with a rdm hard battles.
So yea i would welcome it .
This happens with XIV already kinda -- you're expected, as a DoW to level Lancer, Pugilist, Archer, Marauder and Gladiator to an extent no matter which one is your "Main", much like DoH you level all of them to an extent as well. This is equivalent of having a 'subjob' from XI so if I invited your Marauder for example, I expect you to have at least the first 20-25 or so rank ability from each that would benefit you.
This is why they're looking into changing the classes really.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the info! My DoW is nearly non-existent, my main combat class is DoM (and even at that, my time is mostly spent on DoH stuff)--so I wasn't aware that was happening.
I'm glad they're looking into changing it--I just don't see the fun in having choices (like which abilities you want to use) when the community dictates the choices for you.
