Wuk Lamat is without a doubt the worse character to make protagonist

This is how I felt pretty much. I was not convinced that we should be supporting her when she came to Sharlayan with her petition. I was hopeful that the writing would convince me to support her. Not only was I never convinced at her competence as a ruler, but she also got on my nerves more and more as the story went on. Besides the great character moments with Krile and Erenville, the only time I teared up was in frustration at being stuck with her in a group split up for the 30th time. I was so done with her.

This is exactly the problem with this expansion. I just don't like how they treated the WoL as a full side character. Lyse was good written in the way she was as important as us, Lyse didn't obscure the other characters or the WoL. Wuk Lamat is a bad character because she barely grows and because she obscures anyone else. I mean, look at this.

How is this normal? Erenville and Krile should have had more dialoque too because they are also protagonists of DT but we just had TRIPLE dialogue shit with Wuk Lamat. It's fucking insane the difference with her and the rest. It's a big problem specially when the dialogue doesn't have substance or is repeating all the time the same.

But Plushy, have you thought about all the people that like Wuk Lamat? Have you thought about how many would be sad if they changed her character because of your feedback? In fact, I bet you I could find a whole list of tweets from people that just loooove lil Wukkie-poo. Won't you please consider their feelings?

Wuk Lamat is awesome, it is a different approach and not some kind of ascian plot, got rid of those and hopefull for good... 10 years of Ascians was too much.

Ascians is what make ff14 story good, not Wuk Lamat, she is not a good character not a good plot devide or anything. Or at least not for all the time and dialogue she has. Just a few quests with her in an entirely different context would have make DT better, not this shit.

Everyone keeps calling her naruto, no naruto was loved, she is boruto, a forced mary sue of a character that no one likes but the characters keep going on about how great it is.

Wuk just plain sucks, every step of the MSQ is watching this train wreak of a character ruin any love i have for this game, ive never had to take a break from the MSQ just to keep from putting my head threw drywall, but Wuk changed that, they couldn't be a more boring uninspired and annoying character.

the worst part is our character is absolutely useless to the plot, we do NOTHING, we stand in the background while 2 npcs talk to each other and resolve their own problems and we watch, this story sucks, Wuk sucks, dawntrail is by far the worst MSQ we ever got and the lie that this was going to be the next stage of the WoLs story spells out the quality of the patches and xpacs moving forward.

as Op said, the only thing I've liked in the first 3 zones so far was when she left for a night to go do a thing and we actually got to spend time with characters that didn't make me think unsubscribing was the best option..

the trailer and all the press was a lie, they intentionally hid her and kept her out of the trailer till the end, and severely downplayed her role in it.

Dawntrail deserves the bad reviews its is receiving, i want a refund.

You want a story that focus on the thrill of adventuring and exploration? Fine. I don't have to be the WoL and save the world, but let me be the Lara Croft, or the India John of my story, let me make cool new friends and companions, it's not like SE having to invent a whole new genre for the story they want to tell. There are already many great templates out there, they don't have to go with one of the worst.

I want to meet new cool characters. Not every one have to be meek or a sugary anime cheese cake. What's wrong with actual strong character? What's wrong with character that can carry themselves confidently? SE should stop playing it safe and make literally every one of our new/eventually friends an epitome of goodness. What about someone that have a bit of swagger about them? There is a reason why Elmer Sech going from generic villain to become fan's favorite after his sojourn with the party, there is a reason why Y'shtola is one of the more popular scion. I think a lot of us will scream in joy if we have a non-evil version of Zenos tagging along with us. Hell, I'll take half of a Gogetsu as a new companion in place of two Wuk Lamat.
