At least people in the forums are the minority of the playerbase. So don't worry too much.

Homophobic people will not change their mind depending on the possibility to filter LGBT out or not. A lot of people here tell happily which words they are going to filter out. Just showing their intolerance about irrelevant stuff like meowdy.

It is not OK if people don't want to see sentences with "LGBT". You can filter RP venues with other phrases like "discord.gg", "18+". Filtering "LGBT" just shows what kind of person you are.

Very true. I was just utterly shocked at the amount of people in the thread saying they are going to filter "LGBT". It makes me feel very uncomfortable.

Why do you assume this? There's posts in this very thread that make it plenty clear that people might just wanna get rid of the advertisements that aren't targeted toward them anyways. And if they are that kind of person, why would you even desire to force them to engage with you; because that's not gonna be a happy conversation obviously if it happens.

Haha what kind of hyperbole unrealistic comparison is this. My goodness. You may need to take a step back and breathe or something because that's not what i'd call a sensible response. I gave you very fair reasons why someone might want to filter the word and you jump to this.

Do I really need to say that no, that's not the world I want to live in or that that's going to happen just because FFXIV allowed people to filter a four letter word? It's unrealistic, and if you're seriously concerned about that becoming a thing then you could do with some relaxation and maybe some re-evaluating.
