I don't get why they don't do this event in August when streamers will be streaming the Savage raid.
Instead they do it right when streamers are all streaming MSQ?? What gives?

If your going to do this bs whoever you are, stop using my name to tag your post. .. also them suggesting it is a view point you can ignore it or not.. again please stop or atleast stop tagging yourself with "chloe"
Some things with Twitch drops:
1) Make sure the streamer you're watching is actually part of the campaign. Some people like to be sneaky and try to get views by claiming they're streaming for the promotion when they're not. You can double-check the "time viewed" to make sure it's ticking up.
2) As others have mentioned, things may be spoiled. Would recommend opening it in a separate window and mute that tab. I've read conflicting reports on whether or not muting directly on Twitch affects drops, so just check your timers to make sure all is good. :P
3) With some drops, you have to claim the reward from each tier as you hit it in order to continue the timer. Others let you watch 6 hours (or whatever their requirement is) straight and then claim all prizes at the end.
4) If you're going to be tabbed out primarily, just check back in every once in awhile to make sure the person is still streaming.
Just saw this.....
So the last drop I particpated in was probably a year...maybe year and a half ago. Did they really change all that since then? D:
It might be possible that we can still mute the browser tab itself and the drop counter would still work, buuuut, in the case of FFXIV, the tab itself still has to be active and not be hidden as a background process, so in the end, people would still have to keep the stream window active.
There could be and probably are browser extensions that could circumvent all of what i outlined, so i should have mentioned that. Plus i think being a twitch subscriber allows the account a bit more wiggle-room, but i'm only going off my own personal experiences, with the most recent being Diablo 4 Twitch drops.
Unless they changed/reverted some rules about that around, i was in some Diablo 4 streams earlier this year for drops and people were finding out in real time that muting was halting progress, and that turning the sound down to the lowest point seemed to be safe, but muting wouldn't allow progress.
We'll find out when this campaign starts up if any of that is still in place.
the hours are cumulative so theres an easy remedy to the tab having to be active
1. if you have 2 monitors simply open twitch on your 2nd monitor mute the stream then scroll down so that the tab is active but you cant see or hear anything
2. when you go to work simply tune into a stream and let it run, rack up the hours without watching a thing
3. same as 2 except do it while you are sleeping
You have until July 29th. If you can't finish the story before then, a Twitch stream is the least of your worries when it comes to potential spoilers.
