Its not like I havent tried-I have made 9 attempts at the weapon (last 3 were hq) and our LS is already on the speedruns-the game shouldn't bar people from helping in fights like ifrit extreme

True! So I guess in turn it makes others rich..sort of. >_<
I understand and see your point, but when you see someone with a relic..instead of thinking "Wow they must have some mad skills" instead think "Wow..they got...lucky.."Quote:
It's called luck for a reason.
Really impressive. :o
Very few things in this game require real skills. Its entertainment lol.
Infact most of you posters have nothing constructive to reply with. Its like the quest is perfect in every way-I did add some suggestions that would give players progress for their effort.
If you're having luck troubles, go the more certain route and pay for one on the markets. You've got the meteria somehow, which indicates you have the means gil wise to pay for a success flat out. Whether you are making the meteria (if so, SELL it to go after a market buy) or you are making the gil raw itself.
Playing the luck is playing the luck. Leave that to the gamblers if you're easily dissuaded by exploding equipment. (I happen to take a sadistic pleasure in it.)
On the issue of limits on the Ifrit entry, I might be convinced to agree with you. However that barrier for entry does insure that those who are participating are already well dedicated to the cause at that point.
That's not a matter of luck, that's a matter of dedication. Just because there's a 20% success rate dosent mean 'Oh wow, he got lucky.' The guy may have blown millions on the item, having to gruel his way to farm the gil or get the meteria and crafting supplies for the multiple attempts.
That's not luck. That's perseverance.
I would be very concerned about the value of these relics if I did not see complaints on these boards about the difficulty achieving them. They're supposed to be something hard and special. Sure, there's luck elements involved, but you will always overcome luck elements in this game with enough perseverance. You MAY get lucky and get by quickly, but typically that will not be the case.
And this isn't even touching Ifrit Extreme.
Make no mistake, anyone who has a fully realized Relic has EARNED it.
The Topic itself is a lot, but not constructive. Just that you dont have it done, does not imply that it is unbalanced. There are people allready which are on 4th or 5th Relic. The whole Progress can be done in 2 days, if you are dedicated enough. Hamlet itself is a Timesink, but you only have to do it once.
Want it faster than 2 days? I call that BS.
Not talking about the Double-Meld again.. got chewed over and over allready on this Forum.
EDIT:
Btw.. you only need 1 DoW/DoM at 50 to farm gil. You should know how to sell Stuff with your Retainer, no? Want people explain you how to farm and sell? You can get the amount you need, in a couple days. Check wards for prices, go farm it, sell it. Easy enough. A friend of me did it with Mining, some other guy did it with farming skins and hides.. etc. There are many options.
Yes...this makes me very sad, that is why I spent all my time crafting until 2.0...when maybe they will release stuff that requires me to rub two brain cells together and use real skills. :(
I see your point about the person struggling to get there..but still, it is really not that hard to farm it...just a matter of having free time and not being bored to death while farming. It does not take much raw skill that could be displayed in say...taking down a series of really difficult bosses.
I am not one to be impressed by saying OH WOW you spent all that time farming!! True, that is dedication...but it does not impress me (my opinion, that I am entitled to as you yours) it takes little to no skill to go out there and farm...
Ifrit extreme is pretty cool, I'll give it that much.
I guess you have to know how to...join a SB party? Or..know how to umm farm that particular item which the weapon is crafted from? It just takes time...anyone can press the keys to do it. It just comes down to how much time people have to spare and how willing they are to stick with it.
I MUCH rather obtain my special weapon through a series of tough NM fights, remember ZNM in FFXI? Getting stuff from that was actually impressive...because not only did you need to farm (the pictures) you had to defeat really tough bosses in very tough areas (lots of aggro, add, etc) when I got my Enkidu boots when they first came out for my DNC on my first try, I got up from my PC and did a dance..lmao. I have never done that in FFXIV...I've made plenty of triple melds and was like..ok cool. So my character is lucky..or something. Awesome.
Anyway Hyrist..I see and respect your opinion. Thanks for sharing :o
