With Character re-customization there's no reason to, especially if you get to change your name. There's also going to be free server transfers from what they're saying @ 2.0 launch.
Even if people with 50 classes/jobs will be able to play the tutorial and main story, I'd really like to first live the scenario of the new game with a fresh eye, so yes, I'll most probably create a new character on a new server to remain unnoticed and free to enjoy the mechanics, just like a noob would. :)
I'll probably start one or two characters on new servers, just to see how the experience is from square one after all the changes.
I would rather have the idea of my chara can cross servers, which kinda reminds me of .hack :p
I probably won't tackle any of the new low-level content until new classes come out because creating a new character would feel like a waste of time.
I would only change server if they add a server that is located in Europe and Ragnarok remained in Japan. I currently play alone most of the time, haven't even found a social LS, so changing servers would hold no emotional loss for me. I don't think I could start all over again, even though I only have 1 level 50, THM/BLM. To be honest, I would not have achieved level 50 on my THM, or even be playing for that matter, if SE didn't outright come out and say that there will be a one time only event with Dalamud leading up to 2.0, it reminds me of Ahn'Qiraj opening, such things cannot be missed.
closest I will come is rolling a second character to lvl with my ps3 friends, prolly on the same server though, and if ls cap is removed there would be no reason to allow alts in ls's or free companies.
