Isn't it basically a 2 minute dot at the end of the day though?

Thanks for the response, I see where you're coming from even if I don't feel the same way.
Potency aside, it doesn't feel weighty in the way a lot of other tank skills do especially for its value. Comparing it to shadowbringer, the conspicuous animation and squeaky trolley wheel sound effect makes the latter more satisfying to land to me. Scourge had a pretty good animation and was likewise a dot, so seemed better in that regard too. Clearly the devs don't share my views here either though, as they're removing the subjectively superior blood weapon animation rather than delirium.
SB DRK was my fave tank by far and away. SHB changes killed it for me and EW changed nothing so I still don't play it regularly as a result.
I don't like feeling like a budget warrior with the delerium. And I also was not super keen to see another clone of it being added to GNB, the tank I do enjoy currently alongside PLD.
I think the DRK changes are good but it's similar to MCH, the problems lies in what didn't changed and comes from a rework that pulled the job down in quality.
Why do they allow themselves to add gauges or rework gauges to other jobs but completely avoid touching the DRK/MCH gauges?
Living Shadow is a glorified dot, not a pet, not a summon. Living Shadow should TP to your sides and repeat the actions you play (Maybe grants a finisher empowered by the amount of different actions used?)
1 2 3 spam during filler is not very engaging.
The burst phase is all over the place and feels like a "random bullshit, go!".
On the good side, they added more animation using the sword rather than bubbles and removed the damage on dash.
Since we used to always use Bloodweapon and Delirium together, it makes sense to merge them together.
By the way, what's going to happen to Enhanced Unmend?
To me the biggest concern I have is that the merged BW/Delirium is only 3 stacks, so the MP/Blood economy might have changed.
And without plunge the job is going to have the worst downtime its ever seen post burst in terms of 123 spam.
Both of these would be remedied entirely if Delirium was a 30 or 40s buff rather than a 60s one, but I'm not holding my breath on that.
I mean we still used Plunge during burst window, not in filler.
What really bothers me is the Dark side gauge. Since ShB, that gauge could've been completely hidden from us, we could have no knowledge about, it would still remain at 95%+ uptime due to its overly automated aspect.
I agree with BW/Delirium being 30s would help a bit making the job less boring, but it might completely change the MP economy.
Another mechanic that could help would be Edge of Darkness reducing Shadowbringer's cooldown by 10~15s.
Since we use Edge around 4~5 times per minute, this could add 1 use of Shadowbringer every minutes.
Salted Earth should definitely be changed and become an aura that continuously absorbs surrounding ennemies, insteand of a puddle. Salt and Darkness could follow the same changes, an aoe around the Dark Knight.
