[Suggestion] Limit party finder capabilities for cross-dc travelers

It IS spam. However the argument our fellow players make on the forums to those who are not happy about the spam, is that the one ad per hour per person isn't spam by that one person. Then we multiply this by a however many ad runners are working , and how many venues are open, and how many people come and go from the "job", and now the entire player base is overwhelmed. It's in fact the venue community as a whole that spams that chat, and so they cannot just give the entire venue community a warning or 3 day suspension for spam. If I could have it my way, I'd see the advertisers be issued a warning, and if they repeat the offense, a suspension, until they stop flooding the chat. I'm personally not bothered by the duplicate listings in party finder , since I don't look in the other section, and I think it's less of a problem than the chat flooding all hours of the day - but it's still a problem many people are unhappy with, and should be addressed.

IF you could provide evidence that every instance of people spamming ads in the 'other' category is from people cross-dc travelling, then you might have an argument. As it is, you're simply combining two things you probably don't like, and deciding they're related.

Uhm not quite sure why you got it in your head than anybody in here needs to provide evidence to other players about any topic posted here. The point of most threads is to send feedback to the developers of the game, not to win over an audience of players from the forum. Furthermore, posting such 'evidence' would likely be deemed as some sort of attempted witch hunt, etc, and get people in trouble as it causes drama. Those details are given to GM's in tickets, to be handled by the staff as they see fit, and not shared publicly for obvious reasons. Just sayin'.

Oh, see, the problem is that you didn't understand the point of my post. As has been said, I'm erring on the side of caution and not providing proof because I'm not looking to get my account penalized for it. However, if you want to fact check me, please feel free to do your own research, I'm sure you'll be surprised to find out I'm completely right. Also, as for your third point.... If you could please point out where I ever said we needed to stop cross-dc travel, I'd be very interested to see, because that's the first I've heard of me wanting to stop cross-dc travel.

Actually, let me provide you a bit of the "proof" you're asking for. You'll probably deny it because you're obviously not arguing in good faith, but I'll indulge the point anyway. Without naming names, last night I reported 14 individuals over the course of the night. Out of these 14, only 5 were actually on Primal. 6 were from Aether and the other 3 were from Dynamis. This is only one such example. Please come back and tell me that I'm fabricating this because nothing I say will ever be good enough for you.

Suck as it does, the game has designated raid data centers for every region, and that's not changing until they give us cross DC party/duty finder.

Wanting the devs to further limit player who have to DC travel to do endgame content would just make it suck more.

Have you not seen the posts of people saying they are forced to transfer because the players believe the only place to do any content is now aether, and then having a party full of traveller's? That means that other data centers have plenty of raiders.



This is the same fallacy that happened before cross-world pf was a thing, Balmung had a healthy raiding population, and then Alex happened and people thought they could go to gilgamesh for an easier time clearing. That didn't happen, but the myth has persisted.

The players have made designated raid data centers.

It sucks, but it is the reality of the game right now, and it will remain the reality of the game until a cross DC party/duty finder is introduced, probably until 8.0 at the earliest.

The easiest solution would be to prevent travelers from creating a PF group. This thing we currently have where sometimes 7 out of 8 party members including the party leader are from another data center is quite frankly ridiculous and those 7 players could have just stayed on their own data center to make that party.
