Given that Yoshi P said they aren't making any huge job changes aside from DRG and AST rework, you'll be spamming broil. Probably. The only healer that might get more of an offensive kit is sage and that's only if the attack we see isn't just toxicon 3.

Well sage and scholar are the same job, so it stands to reason both will get new offensive abilities right?

I just can't fathom that they'd not edit their kit at all with all the contradictory skills... but I guess I've been saying that for 2 expansions now...

I'm desperately hoping DT makes them actually feel like different jobs instead the same spec with different talent choices (to use WoW as an example)

Indeed, I totally forgot about that one, so a simple visual upgrade is very likely.
But then it would be the first time a heal get upgraded, usually only dps skill get a visual upgrade.

But why would they upgrade the visual of gcd healing which are the skill we try to avoid the most. (I mean, if you spend a lot of ressource on making a great visual, it'd be sad to be on something people actively avoid using)
We also got a healing potency upgrade this expansion so why would we need an entire new skill here...

Something's missing, you're totally right regarding HolyIII, it's not a lily skill yet it has petals, so it stands to reason they could do the same to other skills. The spell is clearly casted, so it's not your regular "instant cast lilly", it does look like a regular MedicaII with enhanced visual. Ast has the same Aspected Helios animation too but then... Why would WHM+AST get an upgraded AoEheal II and not sage and sch?

This is what I think too. An actual slow would just fuck-up fight design, a simple "AoE -10% damage dealt" would fit the job. Why time magic tho? It's just a visual but it definitely feels off.

If we get more dps skill, don't expect more than 1 button.

Tbh, in the healer department, SCH is the one in real need of a rework.
Did they say anything regarding SMN and MNK before the skill showcase? I've always hoped that DRG+AST were announced because they were expected to receive "light" changes, and big changes are kept silent for the next expansion. SCH being in a dire need of a rework. I feel (hope?) that a complete SCH reworks isn't entirely out of the question.

It’s the only healer that has a semi interesting healing kit left, it requires more than one brain cell in the “double weave 8 times in a row” way that square enix likes of push isn’t and it’s the only healer with functionally no redundant skills

Modern healer design is garbage but SCH is damn near flawless within this design philosophy

Depends on what rework we're talking about. If it's going to remove the pet and make it like SGE, then no.

If it is about making pets relevant again, more opportunity costs, cooldowns that modify properties of our GCDs, then yes.

SCH needs a rework because its different element are either in conflict or better implemented on the Sage.

Half the kit is tied to the fairy, half isn't, making us juggle with two systems. That wouldn't be much of a problem if one of those two systems was not copy-pasted onto the Sage.
Dissipation, while thematically interesting, is in utter conflict with the rest of the kit. I know you consider it to be an amazing skill, but it's a 3min CD, which should make it on par with Lilibell and Macrocosm. Never did I hear a scholar say "Don't worry guys, this will be easy to heal I got Dissipation". Its current use is to gain 300 potency, so barely more than a broil, and 20% on a deploy if you happen to do one. The idea of sacrificing your fairy to get more of the rest is neat, but its currently garbage.

SCH would be in need of a rework because much more could be done with it. A proper healing system tied to the fairy and not just "regular ogcd emanating from a pet I placed at the center before the fight and forgot".
The opportunity cost tied to the pet are interesting, like seraph blocking 2 skills, but enabling others, dissipation boosting the rest, but you loose your pet. Like, there's much that could be done with the fairy system. Currently, it just feels half baked. A bunch of fairy skill with little to no cohesion and a bunch of AF related skill which have been copied by the sage.
They could simply leave the AF system to the sage and go full fairy, make the fairy gauge not a useless thing beside that one time when the boss does AA which do not tickle.

SCH works atm, no issue with that. But out of the 4 healers, it feels like its the one which could become something much better forgoing a rework.
Sage is brand new, WHM basically got its rework through the lilly system, AST... we'll see what happens, beside eternally broken card system, there's still the possibilty to do cool things with the aspected spells but this has been killed in EW so assuming AST stays in durnal 4ever, its current method of healing is smooth and feels very different frm the WHM. SCH feels too close from the Sage because Sage is basically a carbon copy of the job.

20% increased GCD healing for 30s is not to be underestimated.

In some cases like healing Harrowing Hell in P10S early in the tier (and probably today too in less coordinated environment), SCH would almost always go for the Dissipation route over Seraph for the Succor spams for a better return. And reci-deployment is quite likely used elsewhere depending on how you're approaching the prior and post HH mechanics.

"Dissipation or Seraph?" ---> THIS sort of consideration, is important for their enjoyment (and decision making to some extent). Do not remove that.

At least this time SCH got something intriguing/interesting.

I agree that the "gear effect" would lead me the "time path" with Alexander, so maybe slow or stop (as an interrupt ?) ; that would complement expedient acceleration.

A DoT is another possibility (well, it could just be an upgrade to biolysis...)
