FFXVI Collab feedback (spoilers)

The story execution wise felt... very restrictive. Understandable, but a bit of a shame. I did notice if you play as a healer, you start healing Clive, but I'm not sure if this is a unique role encounter since I can't replay the event. Other than that, the crossover is nice.

Clive's face looks very detailed (I think this would be a good sign for Hyurs in the Graphical update).

Enjoyed the combat of that fight. The execution with the Duty Actions gives it a very different and enjoyable gameplay for our jobs at that level. A shame it's just a one-time thing and not repeatable.
Torgal pet action is great. 10/10.

I was aware of Joshua's death but not the reveal behind Ifrit. As someone waiting for the PC release I wasn't too thrilled about what seems to be a major spoiler dropped on me. Other than that I enjoyed the event and the rewards are great.

Not that I would agree with making the brand freely available for players given what it represents in 16 it wouldn’t be hard to simply make it a face paint that could be applied, even the brands of the humans in 16 (who are all hyurs) don’t look exactly the same, they just have the same details

Oh, Torgal also has a bunch of different sfx when running across different terrain. Heard 3 different sfx when treading over concrete vs grassland vs snowfields and sometimes howl when flying. Really nice touch. Also comes with the FFXVI "Find the Flame" soundtrack. Love the work the devs put into the bestest boi. ^^

Most of it was just clicking on NPCs to initiate the next cutscene.

The fight as a healer was absolute trash.

And the outfit looks terrible on a Miqo'te.



But I suppose it was a good story.

- The fight was a bit boring including the duty actions
- Torgal mount is puny with male Roegadyn
- no hair cut and weapon
o Outfit is okay
+ You can pet Torgal

I just wanted to add in my feedback, which is rare for me with my anxiety
I really enjoyed the questline for this. the music was great, the dialogue was very enjoyable. having walk mode on and clive walking with me was great for immersion, and for the solo duty the skills were amazing. i wish we had that dodge skill for real (though for balance reasons i imagine an actual cooldown on it, or giving that evasion benefit to skills like DRG's Evasion leap and BLM aetherial manipulation would be pretty sweet)

Yeah, Yoshida mentioned a few times he'd wouldve liked to add much more to the collab but didnt want to spoil things for those waiting on PC versions or just haven't played. And yeah the collab really doesnt go deep into the ffxvi story, like a smig beyond the demo, Ifirt and Joshua is barely the 1st hr or so of the game, many more twist and turns to FFXVI's storyline, so you're all good.

It would have been amazing if they could do something like the WOL gets sent to a small instanced zone in valaesthia (say the area around Northgate->oriflamme) and you have to quest in both worlds to achieve something but yeah 16’s story is hella restrictive on what they could add on a collab

My only complaint is that Torgal is too small. He doesn't scale very well compared to a lot of races and the player looks way bigger than him making him seem unwieldy to ride. It would be nice if they could tune that a little.
