Login bug after latest patch

Also seeing this on steam deck. Pretty annoying given that I leave on a trip in two days lol......

I cant log into steam deck, can log into steam on PC though. I am getting a error message when trying to login to steamdeck as follows: "This service account does not have a valid Final Fantasy XIV License for this platform of you subscription has expired.
To register a license, please vist ffxiv mogstation (https://sqex.to/Msp) or for further help (http://sqex.to/QXbgu). I have a valid service account and my subscription has not expired, theirs nothing on the websites to help me log into steam deck since which is a issue since I'm primarily a steam deck player.

yeah to add to this, I went to the link and logged into my account. on the license page Mac is checked automatically on the purchase screen which implies that is what the system thinks we're playing on. which we're not.

Friend was using Steam Deck said they can't log in either

Actually why I made a profile so I'm glad I'm not the only one. I am also using on Steam Deck.

I had the idea to try to launch in desktop mode after a fresh install and saw it was saying I wasn't verified for Mac and that brought me here because I am terrified of losing my house, lol!

I had the launcher tell me that I didn't have a Mac license and needed one to play the Mac version of the game. Same issue as everyone else - after the patch, I get this error playing on my Steam Deck. Have otherwise not changed anything else and my subscription is not expired.

I am having the same issue on steam deck. Tried different protein layers with same result. HOWEVER, what some people are saying on here about the server thinking we are logging in from a Mac makes sense. While those without a Mac sub can’t log in at all, I have Mac version up to ShB in addition to my ew PC and PS5. It’ll let me log in and play ShB content but not EW, which if it’s logging in thinking I’m on Mac, that would make sense.

heheh I was just looking at that and after an hour it hasn't been working for me at all, so, definitely not a esun--er, cure-all for this nonsense :D

Keep in mind you have to use GE Proton 8-25, which is different from regular Proton. You'll need to download it on the Desktop.
