Bird race?

Quick answer: No.

Long answer: No new races until they get buns and lions their hats, and all races get more customization options. Even then, no more "Humans, but..." I'd like Burmecians from 9.

Are you really complaining about the game not having a bird race ?

Wow has more visually varied races, sure.

But it comes at a price: most armor and clothing are just texture replacements and look awful. Armor pieces with custom models are rare outside of shoulder pads and mostly are locked to a race.

Personally I prefer clothing variety and quality over an abundance of different body shapes.

They also can't easily add emotes because the very disparate character morphologies require to make a version of each animation for each character.

With all the work they've been putting into making fashion accessories more persistent one day it may actually be feasible to straight up add a winged race (aegyl?) to the roster

Go to the Gold Saucer, plenty of bird races there.

Birb race? Well FFXI had Yagudo which I haven't seen used in FFXIV yet... >.>

But then we also haven't seen Orcs and Quadav either.
