i dont see it as hand-holding if you've already leveled through MSQ and are at lvl 90 with at least one job and use that job to gather gear that can scale to lower levels for your alt jobs :(? all i'm asking is grace enough to save inventory space in the armory (and *time*)..with more and more levels, it just means more gear to shuffle through and take space as not only jobs but levels are added .. maybe i didn't make it clear this is with intent to only go to a certain extent. maybe to level 70, 80 when the cap is 100, idfc, just a bone for the rest of the bs

Just focus on leveling classes by role and when you reach a certain threshold of 10 levels from previous gear tier, change to a new class in a particular role. Gearing problems solved.

Love how this is just a convoluted manner of asking for free gear.

There are more than enough spaces in your armoury to have one piece of gear for every class, assuming that despite classes sharing gear you have different classes at different levels. This will still be the case in 7.0 even with two new DPS jobs, and we'll probably get more space added regardless.

My main character is an omni, I've never struggled with this.

If you think you might use the gear later on, put it in your saddlebag so you don't accidentally turn it in for GC seals. Do your daily MSQ roulettes to build up your tome stash and prep gear for whatever you want in the future.

It's genuinely not that bad. If you want to level up alt jobs, then this is what's expected. I'm all for QoL but there's a point where you just stop and wonder if people want to play games or not.

i genuinely don't see how it's asking for free gear if you still have to put in the effort to acquire it in the first place but ok. more like asking to save time
our inventories are very different and that's cool but i wouldn't be asking if it wasn't a problem for more than just me

the point is i'd like to be able to take a break from playing and not feel lost and overwhelmed when i come back months or a yr later bc of the gear situation

literally it could be the ugliest pieces of sht ever and i'd be happy if i can just cut down the amount of sht in my inventory and not have to worry about having to stop leveing to craft or spend hours farming gear every 5-10 levels so i can keep bing chilling

if you don't like it that's chill it literally doesnt affect you
but i'd appreciate it if it was event remotely considered

Not really needed IMO. What I do is collect every set from the leveling duties when an expansion drops. The formula of late basically amounts to you being able to quickly get all the pieces for your main as you level it since you get 1 unobtained piece for your job at the end. And also the MSQ for the leveling process of the expansion tends to hand out entire sets of coffers for craftable gear as quest rewards. If you gear out everything to be max ilvl or close to it before the expansion comes out you can basically skip getting gear from the leveling dungeons until you reach the later half because they tend to lag behind in ilvl until you hit the halfway mark 55,65,75,85, so if the trend continues 95 in DT.

well, the intent is for lower level alt jobs that are all over the place
i level up my alt jobs very randomly at diff times, when an expansion drops i only can be bothered to level one or two to the cap, at that point trying to hold onto all this gear for when i *do* level other jobs clutters up fast if i were to do that
that's the problem
but i'm not asking for gear that scales with you from the previous expansion cap to the current
i'm asking for gear that scales for lower levels, for example maybe 1-70 max, maybe 80 iat that point when the cap is 100, idc

for people whose jobs are all about the same point or capped currently, that's fine, but not everyone who intends to eventually level everything -has- everything leveled tot where that's fine
i have 80s, 70s, 50s, 30s, btwn both hand/land and war classes, it's a lot of clutter
luckily my crafters/gatherers are all 70 or 80 min so they can share gear pretty ok but the other stuff is just skdfnjgklsdg

Yet in one of your earlier posts you said you didn't want to grind tomes, you don't have gil to keep rebuying gear and probably don't want to farm that either. So how exactly do you plan to get this gear, if it were added? It would definitely not be free.

You know gear sets exist right? If you quit and comeback your gear is going to be right where you left it. If you feel lost then at this point I don't think it's on the game. It's on you.

It does affect me. You're asking for dev time to be used to create this. SE devs already struggle with a lot, so I can't imagine them trying to create a set of omni gear that molds to whatever level you're at.

I'm genuinely supportive of a lot of quality of life updates, but again, there's a point where you have to stop and tell someone that they need to figure things out themselves. You're asking for a big update because you can't be bothered to manage your gear. We've gotten so many QoL regarding gear already, and I'd much rather SE focuses their attention elsewhere.

no, that was misinterpreted about tomestone gear. I'd be MORE than happy to farm tomestones for gear that i can keep using for a role (or one type of btwn physical and magic dps) for levels 1-70, maybe 80, even when the cap is 100. thats EXACTLY what i'd like. that's basically what I'm asking for. id still be pleased as peach if each piece of said scaling gear cost 2k tomestones. that is not what i said lol or mwant to imply. i am 100% on board WORKING for the gear that could do this, and not even asking for its function to persist past the 2nd to last expansion.

however farming tomes for gear that i'd only use maybe 5 to 10 lvls when my alt jobs are all over the place in lvls is extremely time consuming and uses a lot of space when all i wanna do is swap gear and jump back into leveling without having tonstop playing to inventory manage and run dungeons or craft for hours for *a single class* at a time that i'll have to throw away when I'm done with it because keeping it for the next job takes too much space

i really doubt it takes that much, they could take the exp earrings and slap them on the brand-new adventurer gear you get from the hall of novice but take off the exp buff and maybe add item level scaling to a maximum of lvl 70-80 *just like the earrings*

they alrdy have the mechanic for it bc of the earrings we have, i really doubt it'd be that difficult or time consuming in dev time

i dont consider that a big update but honestly what do i know. I am merely asking for a consideration and not even asking for it right now, i'd even be fine for one piece per expansion

That to me just sounds like a lack of planning or efficiency.

It's also entirely easily done at low levels and on alts too. It's just a matter of making use of your retainer storage. This coming from personal experience. What I generally did was use one to store armor pieces and the other held weapons/accessories. I was doing this back before glamour plates existed. As it stands now you should be able to store all your glamour items in the glamour dresser in an inn room along with a number of pre order, quest reward, seasonal event, deluxe edition, and various promo items that you can place in the armoire.

that would prob be fine also if you werent also leveling crafters and gatherers and holding materials for planning to craft glamour amd other collectibles but since thats what im doing a lot of my retainer space is held hostage by materials and other things aha so it's not really any help in this situation, plus holding onto maps and the unique materials for upgrading your craft/gatherer tools, very space-consiming when you're doing other things too

but really half the issue isnt even just the inv space, it's also just having to stop and spend significsnt time to acquire new gear that when you lvl too quickly doesn't last as long as the time spent investing feels good for (unless you just buy it, which adds up v quickly in that case), that's generally why i'm asking for leveling gear that can last more than 5-10 lvls
