Lots of pets that do the same things just look different.
Don't have any expectations but please don't make Beastmaster any 1:1 copy of Bluemage.
Omega and Eden were already added for Bluemage but with just achieving titles instead of any mount like Morbol - sadly.
If they making Beastmaster just repeating all of them dungeons, trials and raids it would be so annoying.
I expect it more or less being a version of Pokemon, as much as they can make one in XIV's engine.
As a non-limited job, it'd probably be a variation of ARR-era SMN... With very limited pet choices, if you'd even be given any choices at all.
Pagaga and Lyon as quest NPC's
I expect it to be a pet collection mini-game deal where you fill out your logbook with different species that will hopefully have some manner of practical purpose in some content tailor-made for it, much like BLU and their Carnivale. I HOPE it'll be the Pokemon-inspired side content that we thought Lords of Verminion was going to be before they handed us a simple RTS-style board game. Considering it won't be out til the back half of 7.0 they should have plenty of dev time to make it hopefully more than what we got with BLU.
And as for weapons, I know why people want whip but we've already seen beastmasters ingame using one-handed axes and shields much like the version from FFXI. And considering they lifted the spell system for BLU almost whole cloth from XI, I expect we'll be getting as much as they can import from there as well.
didnt they breathe down there neck for p11s attack being called dike, for the treatment of lalas being racist and for genderlocking being homophobic.
i dont think ppl take them seriously anymore. the whip isnt used on the beasts is used on the enemies, whip in general is an under utilized weapon in games and would be a great way to show some representation
I just want it to be more than a bare-bones 1.0 version of the job.
We're 10 years in with the job design team having most of that experience, they should be able to deliver a good job on release.
But they won't.
