Those contests are their treat to us. It does not mean they're willing to let some 3rd party dev or artist take the reins all the time.

I'm not even against it either. Modders make some amazing content and fixes(bun and hroth hats), and it would be all too efficient to create a streamlined process where official devs check 3rd party created content and add the final fixes and implementations into the game. It's just not going to happen though.

Apparently I did give a time frame, but it was merely a suggestion not an ask, an example. Then you claim me to be arrogant? Quit projecting and reel in the ad hominems. When I said "Both of these feel a little nonsensical" it was towards your notion of them not doing it based on pride not yourself. If pride were a major deciding factor my point was that we wouldn't have had the contests we've had to begin with.

That aside...

As to it not happening. People asked for (I think they did, I might be wrong on this one, I might be misremembering.. correct me if I am) all mounts to fly. We got it. People asked for further methods of dressing up our characters. We got it in the form of umbrellas and much to my lament wings. Asked for more glam plates. Got it. Asked for more housing items slots. Well.. it's been a while, but apparently coming. Hell, asked for Housing. Got it.

And before I'm accused of being naive in the thought of simply asking for something yields a result. All this is is simply to see how the community would feel with the idea of opening the contests towards older content to fill out what isn't there. And to raise awareness of it; if it's at all there, to the Devs and Yoshi-P.
