Yep, SE does technically do all these thing, really its just the very very poor responsiveness. While yes the listen to the community, it just takes them ages to implement things, dev. process is just so slow...

Best ongoing game, sure. The other one? XIV has terrible support. Pray nothing nasty happens to your account because they're support is as good as non-existent.
Well there's a lot to unpack about this. In the first place, it should be obvious these award shows are just glorified PR exercises. The whole thing is bought and paid for, and 'community' votes are weighted at like a tenth of whatever the judges decide behind the scenes. Taking them seriously as some kind of arbiter of quality is incredibly cringey.
That said, I also see players using it try and punish XIV and express their dissatisfaction with the game. You can often tell they're carrying some chip on their shoulder regarding subjective matters like EW not having a field exploration zone or something along those lines. This is pretty facile too.
I don't really see anyone looking good here.
Im actually glad FFXVI didnt get nominated for GOTY. It got recognition for its soundtrack which Im sure its the only thing that got universal praise and I agree with that.
FFXIV however doesnt deserve shit. I dont want any awards that would further boost the ego of this piss poor community. I dislike you all and I curse ever having to interact with the forums for the rest of my days.
This community and the devs needs to get some huge slices of humble pie before they can go back and bark about how "great" it is, because its not.

I mean even most of the comments in the subreddit, known to be a white knight hive, agree it doesn't deserve the nomination.
