I gave up on the immersion a long time ago.
For that I have other games.
ESO is an MMO where I can enjoy the immersion of the world.

Oh I gave up on an actual immersive world when the zones became giant loads of lifeless nothing, so basically after ARR.
I'm not even necessarily against more futuristic glams, since the Garleans and Allagans exist, but can we at least keep a cohesive artstyle? Make your modern outfits look like they came from one of those civilizations, and not like you bought it in Akihabara last year on vacation.
Uh, glowy weapons been around a long time and every second relic being glowy? That's normal. Ultimate weapons actually are more recent than glowy EX weapons and we usually get a set for some previous extreme each patch, but we didn't in 6.4. The fact is there are only "more" now because there are more jobs. Hell, glowy EX weapons past ARR are only good for glamour, they have the minimum base ilvl for the level they're available at, and they require a rare material available from the fight, you also have to be a specialist in the crafter that makes them when they are first released.
These new glowy tomestone weapons? They're gonna end up being the equivalent of old relics this expansion. Manderville weapons are so easy to get and will be that way forever, they are essentially a second tomestone weapon. Exquisite weapons are likely their "answer" to the lack of prestige people were giving Manderville weapons. And these exquisite weapons will likely retain that prestige because I don't think we're going to be able to unsync criterion dungeons in later expansions. Unless they prove me wrong and add duty finder settings to V&C Dungeon Finder, it's looking like there will be no cheesing to get the augment items in the future.
You wanna know what's actually a visual plague? SMN's primal fireworks going off every minute. Thanks, I didn't want to see what icon was floating over the boss's head anyway, just Ifrit's fire and Titan's ground explosions giving BLM and RDM's glitter-gun-to-your-eyes LB3s a run for their money.
And no, I don't want to turn down everyone's visual effects to "0" just because one job has bright, obnoxiously large, mechanic-eclipsing AoE visual effects in their roatation. But how about a separate toggle to turn down/off battle effects for SMNs specifically?
If that option already exists please tell me where, thank you.
Pardon me, but glowing EX trial weapons (that are normally crafted with the exception of Leviathan and Shiva) are a thing since ARR. There was an instance of Tomestones weapons having glowing effects too (ilvl 120), so even that is not new to the game, they just happened to do it once more many years later.
So "only relic and ultimate" was never a thing to begin with.
That said, if you want to have a non-glowing tomestones weapon, I think you can just get a second copy.
At the risk of being attacked a little, I agree entirely.
I think that prestigious awards, in this case in the form of weapon glows, are important and the exclusivity of them is what makes them special..
Call it gate-keepy or whatever but I think that you should have to work for a glowy weapon, and work hard. They inherently lose value if they can be obtained with no real effort.
With respect, I think the only problem here is that your brain is trying to make a connection between "glowing" and "super special". That may have been the case at one point, but we've clearly moved on from that into a world where anyone can have a glowing weapon. And that's a better world to live in, because glowing is something a lot of people enjoy. Let the everygamer have their shinies.
As an informed player, you have the knowledge required to distinguish what weapons actually required some manner of great feat to earn; you don't need to rely on a glowing effect to tell you that.
