I'd love if FFXIV got better

The trajectory is completely flat. Fates, dungeons, boss rooms, etc are going to be exactly the same until the end of time. There's going to be another story about the Scion friend group doing their heroic anime thing to beat evil. We will follow the quest markers, read a bunch of stuff, do some of those trash dungeons along the way. I don't know, they aren't interested in gameplay ideas.

Look I have my dislikes in this one but still sub so I must still like it hmm. If I didn't I would unsub fast and move on.

The devs aren't known to really takes ideas from NA anyways so keep blowing the proverbial smoke. It falls on deaf ears and the trolls of these forums

This has nothing to do with ping or packet loss. It’s because the tick rate of the server is too low. This issue used to be even worse back in ARR when the tick rate was so bad that it was nearly impossible to do Titan Hard because the aoe puddles would only show up on the client side when the cast was half a millisecond from finishing. They increased the tick rate back then and they need to do it again now.

Somebody in a CC match I did yesterday was running around the outside edge of the starting circle, I assume, because on my screen they were zig-zagging around oddly. It reminded me of this video and I don't think the game will ever be good enough at this for things like PvP to be at a playable level.

They've shown off better hair textures which is a top 3 complaint I have, I just need to see higher poly character models (no rectangular fingers/thighs) and higher res textures or whatever that would fix the horrible mashed potato ground tessellation and every close up in every cutscene showing off the distractingly super pixelated gear.

As much as I like this in FFXI, I think this is too fundamentally a part of FFXIV. You change jobs by changing weapons, and all the skills have animations specific for that weapon type. I can't see this ever being considered. Maybe if they make another MMO someday, because it would basically be like making a whole new game to implement it.

If you're gonna have parts that go 'I don't like the graphics and the overhaul won't fix it' and 'Give summoners pets back nuff said' then it's hard to read into what you're actually saying is your personal thoughts, and not just keeping more relevant threads about them bumped to get them more attention

In a way the thread is homogenized, since you're using it to talk about everything, like how classes are. /joke

But seriously, from what others are saying you're copy/pasting this list in multiple places. Maybe work on separate posts/threads that focus on just one issue at a time and not just 'okhereseverythingatonce'

I don't really have much to nay-say here, even if I wanted to. Plenty of it gets a thumbs up from me.

I wish they would just do away with the job restrictions for glamour. Every time I see an NPC, especially a newer one, wearing gear setups that the game physically will not allow me to replicate due to glam job restrictions, I just roll my eyes and sign in defeat. It's outdated.

The overworld is woefully lacking in substance. FATEs may have filled it out adequately back in ARR and Heavensward, but every expansion that's gone by since without adding anything new to flesh it out feels like such a bummer. Outside of... sightseeing(?), there hasn't been anything new, just more of the same thing we've had for years. FATEs, hunts, maps, gathering, beast tribe quests.

Dungeons (and the game in general, even the story structure) have become extremely formulaic, so much so that even somebody as dense and non-critical as me caught onto it ages ago. I realize this is so much of a monkey's paw scenario, but I wish they'd experiment more with dungeon, or even trial, content design. Maybe they could try open-world dungeons again. They were a thing in 1.X... sort of. From the brief bit I learned about them, it seems like they were never really fleshed out or just dropped altogether.

As much of an issue as I have with hunts, I just don't really know what there is to do about it. It feels like it's too engrained of a system to just alter significantly without also having to alter things like the rewards, achievements, etc., and fiddling with things like that feels iffy when there's player-progression linked to them.

I don't exactly frequent these forums as you can probably see by my post history, so I have no idea what's already been talked about. But judging by how the game still follows the same course that's been set years ago, it's not talked about enough, yet.

It took me long enough to put this post together in the first place. Maybe I'll do that when I'm insane enough to post stuff in public forums again later, one post is already stressful enough.

I agree. I also love how whenever someone lays out a really solid post about their issues with the game, they:
a) have to preface that just because they're criticizing the product, doesn't mean they hate the product
b) spend a lot of time doing this prefacing
c) still get overly defensive SE simps coming to dEfEnD tHe cOmPany'S hOnOR with vitriolic rage

Honestly XIV's fanboys are unhinged. It's one thing to just like a game. It's another thing to attack people who also like the game but have issues with it and want those issues fixed and post on the forums where the devs have told us to post, because they want to submit their feedback. Every feedback thread, no matter how reasonable the request, WILL have pushback from the same handful of unhinged sweaty ghouls who never counter the actual points in the post but just concern-troll about "clogging up the front page" or act like "u pOstEd thIs aLrEAdY" is an argument, or they'll just downplay every issue and call you a titanmen alt. You can literally count them off on your fingers. Like, are you guys actually being paid? Because if you're paid to do this, I can understand. But this level of consistency and PR handling is nuts if you're doing it for free. You guys can relax anyway. In a few months when everyone's unsubbed until next summer, you'll have the forums completely to yourselves and you'll be able to go back to talking about your favorite coffee brands, and top 10 ERP locations, or whatever.

I didn't read the OP to be honest other than "tldr at the bottom", but holy, the /r/ffxivdiscussion roast happening for the same post is something lol

You all need to lay off of him and grow up. So what if he posted on reddit, this is an actual constructive post rather than the mind numbing troll posts or "This game is dead" post.
