That is pretty interesting to read. Would explain why there are zombies in various Ul'Dah guildleves. It would be cool in the future they took Sil'dih's ruins and made it into a dungeon. Would be fun and very lore friendly.

This is what i love about the Final Fantasy MMO's - theres a feeling to the world, a history to embellish the storylines, a reason to go exploring the maps to see if you find traces of mentioned places or events..
The city under the Black Shroud, Gelmorra is apparently where the first people of the black shroud lived before they gained the friendship of the elementals and could live on the surface without fear of attack. It's mentioned in the WHM quests too I believe. You can also learn a lot by talking to random NPCs.
The Sil'dih will rise again!!
An ancient city under the sand, under the trees and underwater would be cool.
Well, the Sahagin city is under-water, and that is nearby Limsa. Does that count?
Yes, it's pobably related
if it is buried, and part of it is in copperbell mines, they could make it like that city in FF6 that you find when riding in the castle underground, where you find odin.
they could make it like a new chamber was unearthed by miners and it led to the ruins. would be interesting.
