Am I the only one who had no issues farming Atma? I just spent an entire day as BRD farming the fates and got all of it done same day. Maybe I was lucky, but I think the book grind is worse.

Or unlucky like me and do 20+ fates in a zone and don't get a single drop. It sucks and it has no logical reason to anymore especially when you have to sync down for fates.
It's the beginning of a long slog and it's also 10 year old content. The drop rate should at least be 25%, if not 50%
If the grind is too much and burned you out, it's ok to take a break :)
You do know that this used to be far, far worse, right? They nerf old relic grinds a lot once the expansion is no longer current. So what you are doing is the less-grindy version. If you're struggling now, it'd be difficult to see you having done it in ARR.
I agree generally though that I want something for my invested time if the RNG rate is more than 1 in 3.Quote:
I'm generally tolerant of RNG when it comes to grinding out for a specific piece of gear or material from dungeons/raids. Because when doing that, I at the very least get some form of compensation for all of my invested time
Because Yoshi-P ordered his developers to make the content last a certain amount of hours. This was achieved with RNG. Once old, they reduced the amount of hours by reducing things like amounts required or RNG.Quote:
I do not understand what could ever prompt a person to incorporate RNG into something like relics
I mean, modern relics have way less RNG than old relics. The latest ones seem to have none! They learn for the future design, rather than going back to change old things.Quote:
I am merely here to ask, if I am not the first person to come complaining about how poorly constructed and flawed the system of atma acquisition is, how come it has still not been fixed?
Because without it, I'm already done before I even start. The point of no Eureka/Bozja is that this system allows us to do actual more fun content than being forced into something terrible. If a wider variety of activities was available, such as with mog tomestones, then we'd be able to choose how we want to grind our relics.
rng is rng no matter how much the odds are increased of obtaining something there will always be a chance it will take awhile to get something. The only other solution is to hand them out with a 100% drop rate which i don't see happening. There needs to be some sort of grind regardless of how old or how long something has been out.
So, there's a meme about this and I don't remember if it's even true it's been SO LONG. I want to say this is real and happened on a PLL, but Freudian-Fake memories and what not.
Could totally have been a troll/joke post on this forum.
But I remember it as:
Devs > Ok, next question!
Dude > Would it be possible to make Atma easier to find?
The devs have translation, nod, and talk, then ask him what he means.
Dude > Well, it's too difficult to find them..."
Devs have translation and respond, which is translated back
Devs > Ok! We'll make them easier for you to find.
Next Patch: Atma icons now have different colors, so you can find them easily in your bag! (They used to all be yellow...)
Right, there's the dilemma devs face. Some people find the current system of tomes boring and don't engage with it. Others are the opposite. For example, I got all of my base ARR relics, but I only ever did the next step for one of them precisely because I just find the RNG Atma grind frustrating. Meanwhile, I'm actively queuing for extra roulettes, doing more hunt trains, etc. these days because I like the tome system and am looking to upgrade a Manderville weapon all the way for each class I have at 90 (I think it's 6 right now).
It took me probably 2 days to get all of my Atma needed for the Weapons. That was on a weekend a few years ago, if I remember correctly.
