FFXIV needs more community content

People don't want community events to be inclusive despite preaching inclusivity because they want to cover up their drama and hide in their own little circles.

Reminds me too much of my experiences with various community discords where you're essentially there as an extra, even if you show interest before hand in events. The reason I left discords like the Dynamis community discord was because sign ups didn't mean anything when the server moderators and community event organizers always planned on bringing their friends from across different DCs in for events and using you to fill in whatever was left over.

I've even experienced this for community arranged content like BA and DR. worst experience I've had was signing up for a DR savage run that took ages to get people into their parties etc, only for one of the organizers to bail and call the whole thing off because *they* got offered a spot in another group so they disbanded the whole thing.

Yeah, most community organizers are self-centered. On Dynamis it's actually been particularly bad because we've had multiple community discords that were more about inviting outsiders and catering to them than than people from Dynamis that joined(the main hunt discord for Dynamis was literally led by an outsider for so long).

Oh definitely 100%! It was so much worse being in actual leadership rooms and seeing these people masks off, the amount of gatekeeping, childish antics, and insults I saw towards genuine good people put me in disbelief. We had a member who had been stalked and harassed with all the proof you could ask for. The other leads decided to actually lie to this person and say they weren’t going to bring them in, meanwhile they actually did and tried to keep them separated from each other. I was so horrified I spoke out and got some bullshit about how lying is okay sometimes. I documented and screenshot everything which in the end was my only saving grace when they realized I started to document them and had to come up with wild stories to try and discredit me. They even went as far as to go back and archive/mass housekeeping to remove all the previous stuff said but I already had it screencapped. They would create reasons to try and get people removed such as streamers, creators etc so they could slide a friend in place. Events they were guests at, luckily people figured out what they were about and the groups defunct now

Sadly discord screenshots don't matter much with how easy they are to edit through inspect element. That's another issue with discord and one that discord seems to intentionally allow. There's no way to generate receipts of chat that can be confirmed. So you add that with people being more careful about when/where they talk by making new servers to hide in, and by deleting chat, it becomes impossible to prove anything unless discord devs actually step in for some reason.
