In some Korean games, this happens as well. They also register with a SSN restricting people to play their own gender.

It's even sadder when considering many F2P games have restricted gender to the class like C9 and Vindictus do (oh, you want to play a tank/melee? too bad, females are only allowed to play mage).

You didn't offend me, I just see the idea as completely pointless :p. People who want to trick people into thinking they're the opposite gender will still do that, even with these characters behind their names :p. People who don't want to trick people like that would just tell people they're guys (or girls, if they play male characters).

So the way I see it, there's no point in adding it.

Completely useless feature. Why does it matter if you're male or female in an MMORPG? It doesn't. At all.

MMOs are used as a form of escapism, if people want to play other genders-so be it. I don't see why you would treat them any different.

Seriously though, while the idea is not without reason, i think it will have to go in the 'unnecessary and they should work on more important things' pile.
