But hey, keep your retainers in the Ul'dah wards and keep buying only from Ul'dah so I won't have to worry about performing any transaction that could possibly involve you (though, listing your retainers would help too).

Since you can check items from the 3 city states anyways, they just need to put all 3 ward NPC's in the same room, one for each City. It would make it so it didnt matter where you placed it, your items would be 5 feet away from the other city states.

They said they can't do that on 1.x client as they initially wanted to do that since mercantile house was already a temp solution till 2.0's systems rolled out.
