use a website like pc part picker - it will help you make sure all parts are compatible. but i understand some hesitation in assembling the pc. maybe a prebuilt?

I did not know that was a thing. I know the hardest part is determining compatibility but that takes the guesswork out. I know a majority of it is pretty much plug n play.
Is that a thing? I wouldn't be surprised. I'll look it up on steam once I'm off work.
yah its mostly self explanatory

Uuuuuuuugggghhh.... Yeah, I will have to build a new PC and I hate it. I feel like I could have gotten a few more years of life out of this machine, but FFXIV said no. I guess I can give my old system to my mom, she needs one.
This is the way. Don't do what I did and buy a motherboard that you can't put your CPU into. It is an expensive mistake to make. Why is this even an issue? I don't know, and I hate it, but it is what it is.
Maybe upgrading is not necessary for most people. I do not think, that the requirements will grow very strong.
Cheers
With Series X and PS5 widely available, people could also just buy one of those for the cost of a new video card or less, depending on one's budget. Only downside would be having to buy the game again for the system, but your account and character(s) all stay^^
