I'm not sure if SE use Kanban board or SCRUM methodology but i would blame that.

When interviewed in early ShB, YoshiP was asked about getting more glamour storage available. His response at that point was basically(to paraphrase), "It's something we'd like to do, but we don't really have the tech/resources at the moment." Given recent increases in the amount of glam storage and glam plates, I'd say they were able to find/get more of whatever they needed. Although the last interviews I heard that asked about the glamour systems left with me the impression that they might be working on replacing the existing system rather than continuing to apply band-aids to the already existing one.
The old number depended on how many classes and jobs you had unlocked.
My understanding is that they are stored client-side so they're basically free to add as many as they want and don't need to worry about server space for them, so they might as well go for the high number.
I've been using them to mark out gearsets I'm collecting so I don't accidentally hand them into the GC deposit.
I'd rather they came out and said 'we are not doing any glamor system updates for quite a while, because we're going to be doing a full overhaul that will make the system less janky, please give us some time thank for understand' because constantly putting band aids on the dreadful system we have now sucks both for the players and the devs. Moving the system over to an 'appearances catalog' style system, even if it takes time, would be way more futureproofed than the current system
I’d be surprised if it’s not increased soonish, if only to keep it in line with the number of combat jobs.
They are QoL things why wouldn't people be happy about small things if they make the game more enjoyable?
Yeah it sucks to use the same glam for DoH and DoL because we don't have enough for all possible Jobs to have one.
I think it's ridiculous how we don't have one glam plate per job (including gatherer and crafter)
I wouldn't be surprised if it really was a technical issue having to do with the way items/plates load whenever you enter an instanced area. But that doesn't mean I can excuse it either. FFXIV's spaghetti code is still bogging it down even 10 years later, and I hope more strides are made to undo the damage. The entire glamour system is a mess and way too limiting
