Dungeons are not a gauge of a tank jobs strengths, but rather their weaknesses and of which people gauge it from that arena only. WAR is viewed as this "Green Tank job" in dungeons...which is true. But it's real weakness is in savage content and above. It doesn't bring much DPS to the table, and it's Healing is subverted heavily since you have to use BW with better intention. Just popping BW when your OT or not taking damage is wasteful. Use that Nascent to heal the MT or keep squishiest ppl healthy.

WAR in dungeons is not at ALL a gauge of where the job is. WAR felt weak in savage content. At least now it can compete.

Im going to say this as someone who did 4/6 duels as DRK before the Living Dead buff - you're full of sh**. And so is anyone who believes that DRK struggles in duels. Or Bozja in general for that matter.

Yeah sure it doesnt have the sustain that WAR does, but it is the furthest from a job that is an automatic loss. Where you needed healing you used Lost Elixir, which you paired with Living Dead for planned usage. You also emptied your MP to double dip with it. For more healing you use Auto Potion. Hell you can also Auto Ether for extra Edge of Shadow. And if you still feel iffy you can use Bloodsucker Essence instead of Martialist.

Any job can do Bozja duels even with zero native sustain, what matters is how you prep for them.

Of course ppl treat things as an auto loss when its not a cheese RDM flarestar nuke because god forbid someone does the mechanics right.



And to the rest of the post - Drk, while boring, is the best tank in the game right now, especiallly with how much they cater to Dark Mind with magic dmg. Top dmg, best mitigation, arguably best invuln if 4min Holmgang doesnt get more uses out of something.

DRK didn't need any buffs...

DRK didnt need any buffs. What we needed was an overhaul to the whole CS/AD problem. There are ways to give DRK sustain. Look at PVP DRK and all of its tools for sustain. They have the options but those changes are rework/new expansion level changes. If anything we should be happy they didnt nerf DRK.

DRK's problems aren't something that are going to be solved in a boring potency bump patch.
Balancing is also completely centric around week 1 savage clear performance and ultimates, and all other content is discarded, for some reason.
But because of that DRK is currently the gold standard.

I dont really like this mentality because it discards other forms of content in this game that are not dungeon baby easy. Criterion is a great example of where start to feel DRK's self sustain issues, especially savage.
Deep Dungeons are another, though it matters less with more party members.

I'm very much on the side of Tank sustain needs to be nerfed rather than buffing DRK's, but given this game's history I think the latter is going to be inevitable eventually.

Criterion Savage might be the only content where it could matter, I haven't done savage so I don't know how much of an edge Warrior has over Dark Knight in the very few actual trash mob encounters.
Even in high Deep Dungeon floors it doesn't matter if we go by the default light party setup of 1 tank, 1 healer, 2 dps. I doubt anyone wants job balance to revolve around solo Deep Dungeons.

The trash mobs ARE the hard part of Criterion Savage, the bosses are near identical save for more health.

Actually I remember the level 81-90 dungeons were kinda "difficult" to wall to wall, nothing outstanding mind you but it wasn't a cake walk unless you were on warrior, For dark knight it was a massive struggle.

To me it feels like recent dungeons have to accommodate for Dark Knights now, making wall to wall's not even hurt on jobs like Gunbreaker, I know Paladin recently I feel like I just take no damage and heal myself through magic attacks, while in the 81-90 dungeons pull actually felt like the healer had to sort of help here and there.

I think this is partly warriors problem with having way too much aoe sustain, but it's also a issue with dark knight holding every other tank to it's level where pulls don't even feel good anymore.
