My bet is that 7.0 will add caster and ranged physical, and then 8.0 will add a scounting as the final job. Then we end with T4, H4, M6(2/2/2), RP4, C4.

It would be funny if they made a Thief or blade dancer job that branches off having Rogue (and by proxy Ninja) at level 80. Of course, it would be more towards the "Assasin" or Dual wielding aspect of Rogue, rather than the Anime fantasy of Nin
Kind of didn't even realize we're like a year away from a 7.0 release.
Pretty sure it will be a new dps job. And pretty sure it will be a caster. Then in 8.0 it will be a phys range to balance out that role. Then it will be either a scouting melee or tank/healer
Ranged DPS is the actual role broken down into two sub roles: magical and physical. Believe it or not, roles are currently unbalanced due to there only being five melee DPS jobs vs the six of ranged DPS.
Many players who make predictions are biased or only view the game from a very superficial standpoint. They need to go a little deeper because this is where the dev team mindset is at. Currently there are four jobs that share fending sets, four jobs that share healing sets, three jobs that share caster, three jobs that share aiming (ignore accessories for now), two that share maiming, two that share striking, and only one that uses scouting.
When looking at this current state of gear and jobs, the likelihood that 7.0 will bring two new jobs is pretty slim. Then there's the fact that poster job of the new expansion has almost always been a melee fighter whether it is a tank or DPS. When taking all of this in, it becomes more and more apparent that the safe place to put your money is on another melee DPS despite the fact we just got RPR this expansion.
In contrast to the OP, it most certainly is not going to be another tank, and I would be surprised if FFXIV gets another tank or healer in its lifetime. They are the least played roles. Less exciting, and far more difficult to balance content around.
Personally I do not want another tank seeing as they cant even make the 4 they already have distinguished from eachother. But you're probably right.
It's too soon for another tank. I think it'll be scouting and caster. No idea what the next scouting job will be, but I'm hoping the caster will be geomancer. I think weather and terrain-based magic would be a lot of fun. After doing a lot of Eureka Orthos though, I'm also starting to want an Onion Knight job. I don't really know what it'd do, but I imagine it'd be a melee DPS that can use some magic
