My character is gone, makes me start new game

He just had a bit of trouble figuring out how to change worlds.

Once again:
After you press "Start" from the main menu you get a character selection screen. Look to the left from "New Character" button.
There is a "World" button, thats what you want. Press it and chose your home world (Brynhildr, as I assume)

Well OP said "suppose my character should still be there". But yes it likely worked.

UPDATE: Hi all! Thank you for all of your help. For some reason, my character all of a sudden popped up, without me doing anything different after waiting a few hours. This was by far the most bizarre things that's ever happened to me lol but I tremendously appreciate all of the support <3
