So I really can't take screenshots of my game...

I think requiring to hide the UI before taking a screenshot is pretty pointless anyway. I mean, I like having the option to hide the UI with scroll lock for taking certain screenshots, but I really think that the game should still be taking screenshots even if you don't press scroll lock first.

I use Fraps to get around this, sure, but the fewer additional programs I need to run while playing my games, the better.

Function key, look for it. Should show as "fn". Do you have a numpad on your laptop or is it compact?

On my laptop I just press fn+insert+home and it works because when paired with the fn key insert is scroll lock and home is print screen.

I did the onscreen keyboard and there's a digital Scroll Lock button/key on the display, but I tried that and it takes the same screenshots like the one before that I have to crop.

There is no red lettering on my keyboard for Scroll Lock when I use the Fn key. I used that onscreen keyboard mentioned above, but couldn't seem to get it to work :(

It's a XPS 17 (L702x).

Looked at the keyboard on the family's XPS 15, and there isn't a scroll lock key. That's weird. O.o I'll look at pictures of the 17 now.

EDIT: Nope, no scroll lock key. That... That's just confusing.

EDIT2: Have you tried the program someone suggested earlier to make a key act as the scroll lock key? I'd say that's the only way left that I know of.

Yeah, I tried the MapKeyboard 1.2 and Steam. MapKeyboard I couldn't seem to get it to work, and Steam DID take screenshots, but my chat log still shows. I just want my screenshot to look normal like it has the FFXIV copyright and signature that a lot of other users have posted with their screenshots. I may use Fraps later.
