Harassment for new healers? How do i block?

Nothing wrong for asking for context to try to make sure the OP isn't sending in a false report, even if they want to skim on most of the details.

We have no idea if said person was even harrassed or treated badly in the first place. We only know they want to report someone and there is a chance they are sending in a false report.

We are at a point where just politely asking someone if they would be willing to do X instead of Y under Z circumstances can be and occasionally is construed as harassment on these forums. Plenty of actual harassment does go on in the game despite the somewhat draconian ToS, but even still, knowing the facts doesn't hurt.

So called "harrasers" are the most harrased group of people.

No, you do not need context, the purpose of the thread is to specify how to report someone, not whether the report itself is valid. Frankly, that is for the GM to decide when they read the report, not you.

I love how we all became automatic juries when joining this forum. /s

It is not our place to judge if a report is valid or false. Let them report and allow GM's to sort it out. Let's be real at the core context is mostly being sought out in a desire to be nosey.

I feel for OP tbh. When I first started healing as a newbie, first time ever playing an mmo let alone ffxiv, people shit talked my healing/failed mechs and it was the worst experience in this game. Mostly cause if the healer dies, the group wipes and it takes more time to do everything. Like I get it and completely understand the frustration but the players in this game are not very patient when it comes to brand new healers. (not all ofc, but a good bit)

Then they could have asked how to report in general without claiming anything at all. They started with offering more info than needed. With the way this community can be, you can’t blame people for being cynical and wanting a bit of context.

Big difference between “healer is bad” and “quit the game, you suck, hope you die”

You can blame people for victim blaming, though, and I do.

They didn't claim anything, they simply asked a question - The only person claiming anything was the person I quoted with the "I bet the so-called harassment is probably someone" nonsense, that's all there is to it, whether you know the context behind it is entirely irrelevant, they felt harassed in the given situation, and felt it appropriate to report/block - Frankly, having insight into the context is irrelevant since you yourself cannot do anything with it, the only person that can is the GM

Again, it is for the GM to decide whether it constitutes harassment, nobody else.
