3000 characters is not enough.

Same reason we still have the stupid daily post limit. They don't care about the forums.

Oh I understand the post limits and I'm for it. However I wish it was a bit higher. Like...double the amount.

If the entire post doesn't fit on my phone screen, it's too long and I'm not reading it let alone go through the pain of quoting only the relevant parts. People who write an essay quoting my 2 sentences are the worst.

Just post

"Length edit incoming"

then edit your post.

If you can't make your point in 3000 characters, you should learn to be concise.

Here isn't the place to practice making those 10 page essay with 100k characters. And no one got time to read it either.

Can't say I'm surprised that even on this topic we have people blaming the player vs. SE's archaic system.

Right? As even if you want to quote multiple people the quotes themselves count as part of the character limit. It's why you will see people delete an entire quote and have snip in the quoted part. Even the text in

here

is counted towards the character limit.
