Market wards - Auction hous status for 2.0?

I hope we get plenty of sorting/filtering options for our AH (and other buy/sell screens), such as show only gear for current job/level, diciples of land/war/hand/magic, sort by highest def/str/anystatyouwant, and so on. And of course, an pop-ups showing our currently gear side by side with the gear we're about to buy, so that we can efficiently compare them.

Another feature that I really like from WoW is that if you input the name of a piece of gear in a certain way while chatting, other people in the chat can click it and instantly see the stats of the item in a popup. That's really nice when asking for gear advice and stuff. We already have auto translation tags for gear, if it was possible to just keep that and be able to for example right click the auto translated gear when it pops up in the chat log to display the item, that would be pretty cool.

- Limited to minimum 30-50 items on sale.
- Retainers for housing and storage purposes.
- A minimum on response time for any of the actions performed.

Not a must but definite plus: Selling straight from inventory when out of town (through retainer/moogle transporting services?)

I had to buy a new set of armor/weapon stuffs today because I'd outleveled most of my stuff...I felt like it took forever since I couldn't sort by level or preferred job/class. And when I'd come across something I liked, there weren't any for sale...I sure would love to search only the stuff that's available. Lol

As long as people remember that what we currently have is a heavy work-around on a mostly broken system that does absolutely everything possible to make it work without breaking it entirely, there should be no need to panic.

I'm pretty sure that whatever they come up with, be it traditional auction house or market wards simmilar to what we currently have serving as an auction house, will be suitably designed in the engine and server structure to work as required without all the glitchyness and issues we are currently having to put up with.

I wouldn't put it this harsh. I really think (hope) they're doing a good job on developing 2.0, but I'm still cautious.
I don't think we should blindly trust SE and I'm also not panicking, but the fact that we haven't gotten any real info on the MW or AH system is worrisome. I don't want to wait until they tell us that they have a system ready that doesn't appeal to the majority of player-base, and that it's too late to change it.
Instead I would like to have information on what they are working on atm and how they envision it. At the same time I'd like to have a constructive discussion with suggestions from the community.

Lol. I'm just saying, "put your trust in SE," isn't something some people really can do when it comes to XIV. Do I think they can knock it out of the park with 2.0? Yeah, it's totally doable. Will they? No clue. There comes a point when you stop blindly trusting and you need to see it to believe it.

I'm not saying it WILL suck. But I think it's silly to just assume it'll be great.

As far as I'm concerned this dev team still have a lot to prove, granted Yoshi-p has done a good job considering what he's had to work with but that still doesn't mean we should just sit back and hope for the best, especially where UI comes in, SE aren't really renowned for PC style interfaces.

This is the biggest concern really, I know Yoshi-p mentioned in an interview that Alpha would be the testing ground for the new PC UI and Mouse/Keyboard controls so hopefully this will include the MW/AH interface/functionality.

My understanding is that they are going to redesign market wards but also create an auction house to accompany the wards. I'll see if I can find anymore information on it.

I personally really like the market ward system. It could use improvement to handle more retainers in wards but the idea of having your own personal shop selling stuff is really interesting to me. Plus it's not like the current system is terrible at obtaining or selling items, with the exception of again the number of people allowed in the favorite city's wards. Can't we just try and not relate it to another game and take it for what it is?

I don't really have anything to contribute to this thread, but I would like to say that the title reminded me of Peggy saying "PIZZA HAUS" on the phone.
