What does this mean? Because just one spiritbond potion is +6.

Does the FC buff + squadron manual + kings cake not do anything after all that?

The FC buff and the Squadron manual are mutually exclusive. All the squadron buffs clearly state that they overwrite company actions with similar effects.

Correct. Any increase past +5 does nothing for DoL spiritbonding.
