Somehow... SOMEHOW.... without updating anything, without ever touching glamour, without melding or switching any piece, and without editing anything about the portrait itself, my SCH portrait just decided to angle itself differently.
Like, my character moved.
I don't know how this was possible, especially when I don't touch SCH at all, but yeah. Just... up and moved on its own.
This system is interesting. And by "interesting", I mean a flaming dumpster.
From my own usage this has been the consistent answer. If there's a problem I just unequip one item, save the gearset then re-equip that item and save gearset again. Has worked every time. Though the fact that it breaks for things as simple as display weapon/helm/visor is ridiculous.
I've personally had no issues with the Portraits aside from one instance. Call it a weird form of Stockholm syndrome; whenever I change anything about my gear as I'm leveling, my mind just races to check if the Portrait got messed. Usually if I've saved the set with new items and refreshed its glamour plate, it's fine.
There's only one time I had a faux pas - was upgrading a Rinascita ring on Sage so unequipped it, and then midway through exchanging certificates the Duty popped. I was more worried about having the ring on than making sure that my Gearset isn't screwed up, and lo, the Portrait had reverted to default.
All the comments aside...
For something that was supposed to be easy to do and easy to have fun with they turned in into an actual science and made it unfun.
No, my glamour uses gloves that hide rings :o And even then, the rings have Emperor's New Rings on them for the fringe purpose of gloves being updated.
And again, I didn't touch it whatsoever. And since doing the Heavensturn quest, my healer glam has always been the same: the Heavensturn armor. Nothing changed.
Checking in. I've figured out how to make it work most of the time. Before any raid or dungeon, I do this each time even if I didn't change anything since the last:
1. ADVENTURE PLATE > edit portrait > reflect current gear > save
2. PORTRAIT > select the job you're on > import settings from adventure plate > confirm
3. say your prayers
The system is usable, sure, but it could use some streamlining.
Extreme small indie company, please understand and comeback in 4 months for the next update.
