So does every hate new PLD now?

For basic use, it's okay. But the fact that they didn't fix existing jank, Goring Blade is a GCD action despite basically just being an upjumped Upheaval, etc doesn't sit well with me at all and makes me feel like it was a rushed job - or it was done by people that didn't spend a sufficient amount of time iterating on the changes. It's functional but it feels bad.

Clemency remaining a vestigial button also bothers me. It would have been a no-brainer to add it to Divine Might - instant cast, make it heal the PLD for equal as the target, bam done. Would it be used in reclears or "serious" play? Nah. But it would make the button a little more useful and fun for casual play.

More than anything, though, I'm frustrated they didn't address PLD's wacky skill progression. Why the fuck do we still have to wait until 74 for our gap closer if you're specifically and intentionally shifting away from combat design where "PLD can just cast spells and make it come to them" isn't a thing that would justify lacking a gap closer for so long?

It just feels like a weaker, jankier version of the previous PLD iteration. I knew it would be garbage and yet I am still disappointed. I guess it's not quite as bad as the SMN rework.

The devs dropped the ball so hard on Job design this expansion. What were they thinking?

It feels awful to play and it's so bad that not only am I considering switching jobs, I'm thinking about quitting the game until next expansion.

60% of PLD can be melted down into a single button macro. Of course I hate it.

No, I like the new PLD as it feels a bit better now to play. But it still has room to be even better.

I don't. A lot of people are overreacting to the rotation. Imo they mainly missed the mark by leaving cover the same (instead of giving it mitigation or something), keeping the way you build oath the same (auto attacks instead of GCDs), and not making the spells recast time the same as physical attacks. If they fixed these 3 things, the job would feel a lot better.

Miss how the old rotation flowed for me as a non-optimizer. I don't necessarily hate it but the rework made it a job I probably won't play much anymore.

Yeah, this was a shockingly awful change up. Paladin was fun with it's unique physical and magic phases. No long downtime between damage phases, nice ranged portion which worked really nicely with a lot of bosses, and no having to build up charges. Now it's just a copy-paste of the worst parts of the other tanks. I didn't want to play the other tanks, I wanted to play Paladin. Now we've got a boring "hit all your damage buttons in the burst" with not much else going on in the far longer downtime. The dots were actually quite fun but now Goring Blade is a straight downgrade and less interesting now that it's not part of a combo. It's far less functional in dungeons now that you can't rotate buffs between add pulls/bosses. Real shocking job. Give us the old Paladin back
