Huh, that's weird.
Maybe I have some setting activated I don't know about that makes my character move along my LMB movements
Just in case, you wouldn't happen to be pressing LMB and RMB at the same time? That's a whole different thing.
Nah, of course not.
I'm just holding the LMB while running around
i don't get it.
They fixed the camera pivot with the new patch.
I disabled it in the options, but my camera pivot still persists.
Someone please help me
Simply by pressing W alone, my character will already be facing the same direction as the camera; whether I'm pressing LMB or not has nothing to do with it.
Conversely, if I press A, D or S, my character will turn to face the corresponding direction (relative to the camera), then pressing LMB while moving will not change that direction (relative to the camera).
If this not what you're expecting to see then I didn't understand what you're trying to achieve.
Here's a video about exactly the thing I was talking about:

Being able to move your camera in Legacy mode without the camera movement influencing your character's movement.
It should work when I disable camera pivot under movement options, but for me it doesn't
You are missing the point. Legacy and Standard are movement settings. The game has to decide what is the reference for your "forward-back-left-right" inputs. There has to be one. And it can either be your camera (which is what most 3rd person games will do) or your character model. There is no in between.
You are asking the movement setting to switch from Legacy to Standard when you are holding left click. If you want your character to keep running towards their "forward" regardless of where your camera is facing, you are not using Legacy setting.
The devs literally did exactly what I said and wanted in 6.3!
But when I tried to deactivate the camera pivot, it didn't work for me, but when I see others deactivate it, it works for them.
Just like in the video I posted above
Here's what it says in the patch notes:
"Automatic camera pivot can now be disabled when Legacy Type movement is enabled, allowing for seamless play with the camera at any angle."
"Apply this setting by going to Control Settings in the Character Configuration window and selecting "Disable camera pivot." under Movement Settings in the General tab."
Camera Pivot doesn't do what you think it does.
I have no idea what this video is going on about, but it fails to highlight the difference in my opinion.
By default, using A or D in legacy mode will cause the camera to stay in the same location, but rotate to follow the character (causing he character to run around in circle). With camera pivot disabled, the camera will keep the same rotation, and instead move to follow the character (causing the character to run in a straight line, as if you were holding LMB).
