I want to use that glam myself but refuse to for the exact same reason.

Another problem with tattoos is that they look wildly different depending on skin color. If you happen to have a skin color that is fairly close to one of the colors used for the tattoo, you'll have what looks like an unfinished pattern or just specks of mud on your body. Or if there's a stark contrast to your skin color it looks like someone had fun with a permanent marker.
Armor isn't as bad in that regard as it's still 3D and can't blend in that easily and you can dye it. Many armors anyway.
Taking the tattoo of this set as an example, somoene with pretty dark skin will look like they have a bunch of angry-red pimples about to burst. Not a cool look.
I will just add that it is something that looks awful on Xaela, the black paint blends too well with your scales, so it just looks off, even if we assume it is washable paint magically treated to hold for as long as you want, it doesn't help with the scales, it makes these outfits unusable for me, personally.
Agreed. Fake Tattoos make so many interesting glamour pieces unusable because I don't want my character to have tattoos.
Disagree, I'd love to have more tattoo items if it's not possible to have them in the character creator. But I do agree it would be better to have the latter option if that's a possibility, if only so I can have a bunch of them on at once. :D
The nice thing about having them in character creator would be that you could choose different colors instead of being stuck with one that may or may not look nice with your skin color.
All it come down to just having the gear in more compartmentalized form. The issue with tattoo is the same issue with pauldron, cape, toolbelt/satchel .etc. Especially the last one. Oh how I wish for so many good looking piece doesn't look like something a person would wear because they're in a workshop.
I wish they remove tattoos from gear. Any gear that has them I will never use because don't want to have a tattoo on my character.
I'd rather the gear didn't have the tattoo. We should have a "body marks" option in character creation instead.
Especially considering how some races are designed, where the tattoos look stretched, out of place and clash with their fur.
