Very true. As long as players buy gil from RMT, bots will never cease to exist. SE can ban them all day. If people are making money by creating bots there was always be more.

easiest way to solve this would be to simply automate the RMT reports if the sprout is a trial user. if more than 5 people report them for RMT advertising and they're a trial sprout who hasn't completed their first dungeon (sash) then the game should just automatically "mute" them for 24 hours and disallow them from using any chat outside of instances.

I have a sprout character on Marilith and I am not a bot. No not ALL sprouts are bots.

Just people being over dramatic about bots as always. The other day it was "these bots make me lag" now it's "all sprouts are bots". Both statements that have minimal research done and are likely wrong.
As others have said, there are always going to be bots as long as people buy their stuff.

The problem is that the average player is dumb at spotting bots.

I have been called a bot several times simply because I was mining for several hours in the same area. A low level area. (identified a gap in the market)

Two people called me a bot who was ruining the game.
