Unable to retrieve Steam Account Information

I have never had this issue until now. I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one but it's infuriating to have to be bound to Steam to play FFXIV! I have so many regrets purchasing through that app, which I despise.

Not sure how to fix it as restarting, powering down completely, etc., doesn't work. 😡

This isn't a problem with you (or us), it's a problem with SE and Steam, they need to fix it.

Sadly all you can do is just keep retrying and it'll work when it works. Anything else you do like restarting was just a coincidence and it would have worked if you waited the exact same time it took to restart and try again.

Hello!! I just had this happen:

Opened through Steam, got error
Restarted steam, still got error
Restarted PC, still got error
Googled and found this thread, by the time I was done creating an account (2-3 min, never posted on forums :o) I clicked back on client and it had the normal screen back on it. Idk why or how it fixed? Maybe just weird bug

I'm trying to solve this problem, it's been 30 minutes and I tried to restart the pc, restart the modem and Intramundane's solution but none of them are working for me.
Steam server status looks ok too.

I've had this issue intermittantly, but today is the first time I cannot log in at all due to it. Restarting computer and refreshing the launcher is not helping

Edit: I'm in after about an hour of not being able to. I hope SE can improve the reliability of the link with Steam or else not require that connection at all

Started having this problem a couple of days ago, have had ff14 for 7 years without this problem.

First time ive had this aswell in 4 years, ive had no luck with any suggested tricks nor a few of my own.

I am having the same issue.

I was of the belief that Valve requires you to use the Steam launcher for all of its games, including this one.

I'd certainly support a move of the game off Steam to normal accounts. Not sure, contractually, how Valve and SE could accommodate that though. Perhaps a small surcharge, like there is for world transfers? Also not sure how that might affect Steam Deck users -- can they actually play games not bought via Steam?

I am now also having this issue.
