Removal of the 2min burst meta.
1) Character customization: We have better textures and graphics incoming with the overhaul, but we also need an expanded cache of options!
2) Glamour system: Make every item "All Class Glamour", except for Artifact sets and weapons. There's no conceptual reason to have the limitations we have today (see https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/...her-jobs-sets/ for details on why);
3) Savage loot: I don't know how to change it, but something must be done to address the unfairness from that loot system for Party Finder raiders. I think I'm on my fourth week in a ROW without getting anything for P5S (trying to gear a healer job), while I see people winning every item in the loot table at once by themselves.
4) Job design: Hot take but I think the 2 minute burst cycles myst be extinguished. They are clearly a design choice and works fine as such, however it limits heavily job design as everything must be gravitating around this. I think it's way more interesting to interact with other players on a more personal level (such as AST card buffs) than with everyone at once every two minutes.
5) Blue Mage: Another hot take, but I like the way the job is designed. What I hate is how it just doesn't work well with the Party Finder, thus making it very hard to keep a flow of running content as its 'endgame'. The best way to mend this is pretty simple: let we join instances by ourselves, so we can complete weekly log with Basic Instinct (we don't get credit without a full party). Also please, move the Blue Mage update for the first half of the expansion!
6) Housing: I feel that they are aware that instanced housing is the best way to go and must be a technical problem holding them back, so I wouldn't comment on that implementation, but in the meantime... They could make at least apartments/FC rooms a little better with more item capacity. And please, if players were able to make tools to manipulate a vertical axis for furnishings, it means is possible, so I hope that is considered for improvements.
No more revolving door of MSQ writers. Pick one, and stick with them.
More of a focus on high/dark fantasy storytelling and locations. Less modernism and memes like the accursed scenes that came out of Endwalker.
A full pantheon of summons for Summoner.
A complete rework of the healer role.
Eyebrows for Highlander.
The addition of another race that uses the highlander male build, like Aegyl or something similar.
More longer hairstyles for female characters.
A full new cast that has both the visual diversity and diversity of backgrounds/personalities that the scions are lacking in.
No more "little brother" characters.
Permanent deaths and sacrifices in the main cast.
Deep Dungeon/Relic Zones releasing earlier on in the expansion patch cycle, along with more of that content.
The addition of a Beast Mastery Hunter equivalent from WoW as a full job.
Blue Mage having access to Duty Finder and the main story.
The actual conclusion of the Ivalice/Bozja plotline in content created specifically for it.
OTHER TECHNICAL IMPROVEMENTS
- The menus are too big now. Get rid of what we don't need anymore or merge it.
- Re-scale the health and sync of content from previous expansions to tier sync, so it's not too easy and boring.
GEARING (including alt-friendliness, bad luck protection, speed getting from max ilvl to actual BiS, itemization freedom and/or parity, etc.)
- Always have 2 chests in savage, but change it so that if you already cleared for the week, you automatically roll Need and if you win the item gets discarded.
CONTENT VARIETIES
- Rewards for doing Minimum Item Level / Silence Echo content, similar to Wondrous Tails, Faux Hollows or the Blue Mage Log.
WORLD INTERACTION
- Less S rank conditions that involve killing 300 enemies. Think of new ideas or new versons like Armstrong, Ophioneus and Burfurlur.
WORLD DESIGN
- If we get new areas similar to Eureka, they don't need to become flat like Hydatos just because some people don't want to navigate.
OTHER BIG QUALITY-OF-LIFE CHANGES
- Setting so that when you turn the camera or click hotbar buttons, you can't target players or chocobos in battle and lose a GCD.
- Let us log in faster if we get disconnected and are in the middle of a dungeon. Don't exit the game just because there is no connection yet.
Move away from how formulaic everything is. While there are always some different things added in patches, in many ways, the patch cycle is very formulaic. If anyone ever wants to know when something will be added, just look at 3.X, 4.X and 5.X patches and that gives you an idea when new raids, 24-man, trading hunt marks for upgrade items, crafter/gatherer gear, relic quests, etc etc etc.
It isn't something that will ever happen, but make these extreme/savage instances less scripted. Instead of it being linear with:
- Mechanic 1, wait 10s
- Mechanic 2, wait 15s
- Mechanic 3 or 4, wait 15s
- Mechanic 5, wait 10s
Phase Change
- repeat above, just with modifications
Change it up. Force players to be reactionary or recognize that the next ability can be any 1 out of say... 10 mechanics. Then, remove the enrage timer entirely. If a group can survive this non-scripted onslaught, then reward them for doing so. Maybe compromise and put in soft enrages only - putting vuln stacks or damage buffs out there.
Also, add expert recipes on the difficulty level of the water otter fountain, but for crafted gear. Maybe make it the equivalent of i615. Crafting is overly simple. Keep it simple for those that want to just click two buttons and HQ something. Add in a reason to actually know how to craft, but make it worthwhile and not just for glam.
1. Being able to differentiate between physical and magical attacks
2. Hairstyles and headgear being available for all races
3. More safe slots for raid markers
4. Tacklebox for fishing( this is most likely not happening) or extreme streamline of bait
5. Unhomoginization of role actions and simply just have each job have its own version of the role action.
6. Rework of healer dps actions and gameplay.
7. Rebalance of all ranged dps
8. Remove the weekly cap for beast tribe quests for stormblood expansion and earlier
9. Provide a solution to the gearing problem in ffxiv
10. Better rewards for criterion dungeons and pvp battlepass.
Since we're not getting any new races, I'd love to see more customization added for the races we already have. More face options and perhaps giving other options such as adding muscle sliders to races that don't have them, etc. More tail, horn, ear, etc. options. The works. Also, please allow us to change eye color at the aesthetician. If I'm remembering correctly, Yoshi P originally stated this would be included before it launched forever ago and it never was... Just imagine it's contacts or something, come onnnn. :/ I'd love for them to fix the issues surrounding Viera and Hrothgar (hats, hairs, etc).
Instanced housing. I'm very grateful to have my own house but it's horrible to think that if I ever drop my sub I could potentially lose it and never have a hope of getting it back... So please, give us better instanced housing than apartments.
I NEED an actual pet class in Final Fantasy now that summoners no longer have combat pets. What was essentially the loss of the job I resonated with the most in XIV caused me to unsub for half a year and I dunno if I am going to resub after this month if the itch leaves me since I lost that connection to the world. So yeah...beast master like job or something pet focused.
Some type of PVE side-content with changed combat style. Something along the lines of the new PVP actions, but in a specific side content (next Eureka-like) and it evolves the further into the content you go with new gear that also enhances each job actions and traits.
Just some content where the combat is different and each job can feel unique in it.
A complete upending of the entire design philosophy with respect to the healer role. Design them for this game, not Hello Sylphie Island Adventure, where the twenty copies of Cure 2 and Medica rot alongside the 1111111111111111 ☆~super awesome gameplay~☆
