SAM and SMN is doing too much damage and should be nerfed.

Including SMN in this was a dead give away OP is mocking the devs for claiming rotational difficulty is factored into job balance yet some of the easiest jobs to play deal more damage than others. Not to mention, the whole notion is ridiculous. Job difficulty is always going to be subjective. Yoshida likely doesn't find Black Mage very hard to play... because he plays it. There's no way to avoid perceived biases like that.

Also, Summoner? Like Really? Are you some sort of Red Mage main that's having issue with door boss? If that's the case I can help you. Both RDM and SMN need a buff and RDM gets it harder because they get punished from too much movement. They are still much better on the second P8S boss than Summoner because Summoner falls on the burst windows being moved.

You might want to take a look at both values and try to understand those. Let's get a quick reminder:
rDPS stands for "raid-contributing DPS", and it is measuring how much damage you actually brought to the raid.
rDPS = DPS - (damage gained from others' external buffs) + (damage given to others by your own external buffs)

aDPS stands for "adjusted DPS", and it is measuring how much damage you did with only single target padding removed.
aDPS is worthless for jobs like BRD or DNC. At most it can be used to understand what DNC and BRD brings.

What does both values can teach us?
Samurai goes bonkers with buffs, making it truly the best candidate for Dance Partner.
BLM, while below melee rDPS wise, provesd to rise higher than melees.
MCH, despite being a pure DPS, still struggles to reach a melee aDPS.
If we go a bit deeper in the numbers, we can see that MCH and BLM scales almost identically on buffs.
SMN takes better advantage over the buffs than RDM. Which makes little sense.

So where do we land?
Back to square one, DNC and SAM remains easy jobs to pick-up to clear the content.
SMN is easier than RDM yet performs better in and outsides buffs.
MCH is a worthless pick as it barely scales of buffs and takes a spot that could be taken by a DNC or a BRD who will buff the much stronger melee jobs

Every time they explain their design intent behind things, I get more and more confused

I sadly can't either cause this is a common argument point that genuinely is taken serious as a genuine argument point to reduce Samurai or actually any damage of any job. Thus I didn't sense the sarcasm. It's just such a repeating discussion point in-game or on Discord that I just can't tell apart anymore... that's actually kinda sad...

Given that SMN does little damage, fairly certain that's an epic satyre.

For those who think SAM is not the simplest melee..., which job do you think is? Simply curious.

And SMN, I have zero doubt that SMN will be the job with least dps in the future. It have team support and the easiest rotation in video gaming history.:(
