Personally, I would really dig playing a male Au Ra, but without the horns or tail...

Sorry I had to. I think Au Ra default standing pose, walk, and running animations are all absurdly lame.

I just changed from a Xaela to a Raen, because the Raen higher more of a rosy skin-tone option and the whites of their eyes are actually WHITE (the Xaela, their eyes are almost black). But I didn't realize just HOW much their horns and tails clash with so many of the armor sets in the game. Like... it's honestly pretty bad.

Personally? I would love a new "Clan" option for them, that just nixes the horns and tail, maybe even the scales, and give them more normal-looking ears. Or my personal preference, short pointed ears; not as long as Elezen or anything, but still short.

Not sure how or "why" you'd add this option, but man, I would LOVE that. To me, it would really just be the best of all worlds; the body-type and silhouette I think looks cool, without having to worry about what stuff "matches" my horns.

Clashes in what way? Colour or shape?

I'm picky about the shape of clothes for my Au Ra alt (wide collars seem to end up extra-huge, and narrow pants make their legs look spindly) but I don't think I've ever been bothered by the colour. It seems a pretty neutral shade.

I mean even if you remove the tail and horns you still have the animations that are questionable.

I'd play a male au ra if they fix the janky run

The horns, scales and tails were exactly what drew me to Au Ra in the first place, and they remain my favourite race in FFXIV... despite the plethora of complaints I have with their design (hourglass shape isn't one of them, and I've gotten used to the run tbh), and unfortunately the 7.0 graphics update is unlikely to address any of them because they're not going to fundamentally change their appearance at this point. At best, we might (finally) get more options...
