Yeah, at its current state, I'd rather not have him at the battlefield. Not that I want the little twerking carby to be deleted, but if they removed RA from it as well as the requirement to cast the Demis, it can live as a cosmetic spell.

The best case scenario would be for SE to add something... anything to make the pet engage in battle. I'd think they could have a dps equivalent of Embrace. It would be a marginal percentage of the SMN's dps, but better than having the pet idle.

And when you hit the button there would be a 20% chance that the carbuncle wouldn't do anything.

You really want to go back to that? Because that was life before the rework.

Squares pet A.I. is trash and I don't want my dps hanging on it.

I don't want egi assaults back but I would like something like a Guage that increases as Carby auto-attacks and then you get to use an attack to spend it. That way we don't have any egi assault ghosting and Carby can fill a role in gameplay other than to let us summon the others. Or hell, give us back our trait from 2.0(?) that gave us a buff when the egi scored a critical hit (it was spell speed before but literally any stat could work)

No?... The thing I suggested is a dps equivalent of Embrace, which means an automatic source of damage. Symbolic at best, having it at a similar potency, but would mean quite a lot to see the pet actually engaged in combat. Of course this is not the most desired solution, because that would require combat code revamp or something else, but with what we have right now, I suppose it would be either that or making the carby just a cosmetic spell.

I would still like for Physick on Summoner to be as useful as Red Mage’s healing spell or be removed entirely; it’s still ridiculous that there’s an inconsistency that has the former spell be almost worthless outside of maybe the first few dungeons at most.

Physick proper scaling to INT would have very niche usages, for example... Dungeon run, shite hits the fan, healer dies and tank's HP is plummeting. You got that Swift Raise but those seconds of wait can mean the tank with their tools on cooldown. A couple of (properly scaled) Physicks can save the wipe.

Another example: it can be a really good survivability tool for the next Deep Dungeon.

It wouldn't be as useful as Vercure because of the dualcast potential, but it can be in a pinch.

Adding three new primals still does nothing to fix SMN because the primals themselves don’t do near enough on their own, colour of their astral flow is little enough difference

SMN just doesn’t have enough to juggle nor does it have any flexibility in its rotation, that’s what needs to change, not just summon ice Garuda instead of garuda

THe main issue for Summoner is the rotation is too rigid and not flexible. I have 3 fights out of 5 I'm getting screwed as a Summoner this tier. P5S, P7S, P8S second boss. Why? I can't just hold Phoenix/Bahamut and spam Ruin III to fit the burst window.

On paper, the rotation is easy and comfy. That's what they aim and want but Summoner's rotation goes against their principle of burst window. They either need to fix the rotation to be more flexible or they need to rethink about their goal of burst window.

My group laughs when I say I support with Physicks in High Concept :]

Personally, I'm pretty upset at what they did to my boy Carbuncle. He's completely useless outside of Radiant Aegis. Carbuncle is a Light summon with poison abilities. I mean :) Just look at P5S :D

I’d love if the primals stayed out a bit longer and attacked along side us. Kinda like the summons in FF7 remake. Maybe 15 seconds of them attacking our enemies then use their ultimate attack then vanish away. I’d absolutely love that. Maybe give us some ogcd summons as well who will appear and use a certain attack or utility hen leave. Could be fun.

I do want to point out there is a very niche Rekindle use in P8S on the second boss when at 3minutes theres a tank buster and you have a Gunbreaker using Bolide. Rekindle is very nice and niche there.
