I mean if we had a house on the island that would maybe maybe satisfy people a bit more but the only thing you can a call a house on the island is the mammet shop where they can watch you sleep...can't be that hard to just give us a little cottage we can build. Doesn't have to be like housing, doesn't have to be big. Doesn't even have to have thousands of different designs. But please just copy paste a house from literally anywhere in the world to the island so we can sleep at least not in the open besides a mammet shop...
Dunno who at SE thought the players want a windmill more than a small (yes SMALL) little house that they can call their home...but hey we can have hopes for the future they said already they will bring new content to the island so hopefully that will be a step in the future...

My last MMO was EQ2 and the housing there allowed for so much to happen. Between the lack of housing and what little could actually be done inside a space, I had no real interest. I would only want a house to get away from all the chatter and spam. This satisfies that and gives me something to do other than just sit there.
(I also have an apartment and FC room, so I was already satisfied. I even get to use someone's house as a private garden patch.)

Yes in the sense that I have a place I can call my own and have built irrespective of the limited customization, I appreciate how vast and vibrant some areas of the island look, comparatively. Nope in the sense of how limited the customization is comparatively.
Personally, I would take the island over housing, but I don't think it should be intended to serve as a replacement.

My first thought was: "wait a minute, so everyone can get a full island, but not everyone can get a house"...
I do not enjoy island sanctuary a bit. I did not have many expectations and even those were disappointed.
But again, they did say it is not for everyone, which is fair.

I am just going to say that the Island Sanctuary is exactly what I expected it would be.
I wasnt buying into the unrealistic hype and I wasnt frothing at the mouth to get the island. so I am not disappointed in what they gave to everyone either.
SE delivered, in my thinking, exactly what they promised, and what I read into all the releases about it. they never said it was akin to a house, and I do not feel they implied that either. but I dont feel some desperate need to have a house either, and they have never said everyone was entitled to a house so... expectations met lol
while they may add things to the island, I do not think it will be renovated to be house like or even unique per person
