THIS!!!! THIS SO MUCH. I stopped using a lot of my support kit in dungeons and some trials and I’m starting to not care about my damage output too. Already stopped caring about mechanics as the damage output is embarrassingly low. Stack markers can be done 3 man easily, tank buster do at best like 700 damage. It’s all fake difficulty and I’m shocked more people don’t notice it.

At least the dungeon is now shows new players what future mechanics look like. Before all it taught you was that you were supposed to stand in the electricity or blue fire.

Coils of Bahamut has a really fantastic story that acts as great bottlecap to ARR’s story and really adds an extra layer of depth to our relationship with Alisaie, who is one of my favourite characters in the game. I finally got around to soloing it before Endwalker launched, and I wish I had played it early. Is it worth the time to go back and redo it? In a perfect world yes but I suspect there are plenty of other things and issue that would be more deserving of such resources… but I think it would be worth them perhaps adding like a solo buff to make the raid easier for those who just want to play it for the story, that negates that boss with a near insta kill I took two hours to clear…

This is supposed to be taught on the first dungeon not the finale of a expansion

Compelling or not, it is better, isn't it? Before hand you didn't really have to pay attention, everything died very quickly. The only difficult part before hand was if you optimized during meridianum and stun skipped the invulns.

The actual boss fights are fine, it's everything else. They cut out way too much they didn't need to at all.

yeah I would've at least wished they kept the whole ceruleum plant part and at least a lite version of the depot section where you had a bunch of soldiers and mechs chasing you.

And they cut out Livia's dialogue completely so when she shows up at the end it's kind of...abrupt? If enough time had passed since doing some of the earlier quests you might not even remember who she is. And then there's little things like cutting the praetorium clip where the Armor recognized you from the earlier quest line and got all happy. A charming little blip that was like 10 seconds long and they removed it for no reason. Yet we still have excessive amounts of unskippable dialogue through the entire instance.

To be fair, the extra Livia dialogue they cut out wasnt....that interesting? It was mostly just her being pissed that we're going around ruining her base, the most important part to me was her little simping for Gaius speech that they kept in and tweaked to make our WoL react a little more naturally now, which I appreciate.

And to be honest, Ive been ignoring old prae (and Im sure Im not the only one, lets actually stop kidding ourselves from being nostalgic over boring old, get out your favorite netflix show prae and castrum!) so that little part about the magitek armor was something Ive easily forgotten. At least the WoL reacts sadly amusingly enough with them using more facial expressions in these cutscenes.
