Crits are fine. In a game where where bosses have this much HP the odds will more or less even out the damage over time. The only people who care about damage variance being "unfair" is the type who thinks ranking 101th damage dealer rather than 100th, because the next guy got one more lucky crit, actually has any meaningful difference. Besides it's a fools errand anyways when there will always be unfair damage cutoff based on bursts/kill times and latency.
Why SE is going so far out of their way to cater to turboparsers when the game is intentionally built to discourage that kind of dick measuring is anyone's guess. Seem schizophrenic to me.
