Just reviving this for a little bit, but anyone remember when was the last time he talked about this? Will we expect this year or is it still up in the air?

Only if I can score once with Jecht shot, and then hide in my own goal and bug the AI into swimming in circles. I kid lol I'd love to see this. When I grow up I wanna be a blitzball! FFX is held in such high regard by most people I speak to, especially in comparison with many of the modern FF titles. I was always baffled as to why they'd lean on the early numbered titles for everything (themes, gear, plot) and then completely ignore titles like 9 and 10 which are incredibly iconic.

+1 for blitzball expansion for Gold Saucer, give it it's own section with the floating water sphere. You could have npcs in the rafters wandering around and such. You could have an offline and online component for a weekly tournament activity for MGP and gil, possibly rotating rewards like the Tournament mode in FFX, and swap out the OG names for new ones. So like, Gridianian Glories instead of Guado Glories for one example. There's soooooo much they could do with it.

I'd I had to pick, I'd much prefer FFX style blitzball to FFX-2 "manager" style though.

This discussion is all well and good but we need to ask the bigger questions like will the event have an Otherworld orchestrion roll?

I saw a few people floating face down for hours in the ocean during the Beach Party event. I was like "Oh cool...they got people dropping hints on Blitzball coming by having people practice holding their breath".

Nah...just corpses. I was disappointed.
